The Arktis B220 Kommando Smock, originally developed in collaboration with the German Kommando Spezialkräfte, is a highly capable and rugged outer shell designed for military use. This enhanced version of the smock has been widely adopted by sniper units across Europe, including the Irish Army Ranger Wing.
The B220 is equipped with removable padded elbow protection and shoulder recoil pads, specifically designed for heavy caliber rifles.. To combat windchill, the hood and lower back are lined with a windproof layer. Constructed with durable 50/50 DWR (Durable Water Repellent) Ripstop fabric, the B220 is both rugged and water-resistant
The smock features fully articulated construction for optimal mobility. The wire in the hood allows for shaping, while an elasticated cord ensures a secure fit between the inner and outer hood layers. The lightweight windproof hood lining enhances protection from the elements. Underarm zips provide ventilation when needed, and a storm flap and adjustable drawcord waist, base, and hood offer further versatility.
With a total of 13 pockets, including cargo pockets, internal zippered pockets, sleeve pockets, and a large rear external pocket, the B220 provides ample storage options. Other notable features include a two-way front zipper with a storm flap, Velcro cuffs, attachment D rings in outer pockets, Cordura elbow pads, foliage attachment loops, and a rank epaulet. The loose fit of the garment allows for ease of movement and compatibility with body armor options.
