Just about every hobby has a valuable piece that deserves dedicated transport — whether it's your handgun, night vision, or other expensive tools, they're a great starting point for some DIY.
Originally made to carry the PAQ-4C aiming laser (retro AR collectors will know), It features a completely dustproof seal (we can't guarantee it's ability to hold out water since the seal is old) and two rock-solid latches. Inside is a divider shelf with a thumbhole and foam specifically cut out for the PAC-4C. We couldn't find anything directly applicable with the old foam, so we got a little creative and found a lot more value in this case:
Grab the foam of your choice from the internet (about 1 inch depth is what we used) and now you can sandwich small items like a handgun or night vision device safely in a foam cocoon. You'll still have the small divider shelf to store stuff like batteries or spare magazines, too. If you don't opt for the plastic 'shelf' insert, grab 2 inch deep foam for the same effect. All that, and you've saved yourself money over purchasing something like a consumer Pelican case, and it's got that surplus charm.
A lot of these have seen use, but since they're built super tough, they've still got a lot of use left protecting your gear — and a little bit of character is always welcome in a surplus piece.
Condition
Cases are in excellent condition, with only minor scratches or dings. All hardware is present and completely functional. For cases with the plastic backing insert included, either one or both plastic rivets may be missing to secure the insert- these rivets can simply be replaced with any self-tapping screw or off the shelf plastic rivets sold at any hardware store.
