Bundeswehr "Trail" Training Shoes

The Bundeswehr had a set of prerequisites for their next training shoe: robust, aggressive treading, and absolutely zero gaudy colorways. Built for comfort, long distance torture that your drill sergeant subjects you to, and about everything in-between, these are going to serve you quite well.

These shoes make for a great lighter option than mid top boots for hiking or trail running with their grippy, Solomon-esque outsoles and are very comfortable for long periods of time. For a shoe that's this well cushioned and reinforced, they're also pretty light weight for their class. While not incredibly remarkable looking, they're sleepers when it comes to their durability and overall performance. They’re made for just about any sort of training activity the Bundeswehr subjects their troops to, but make great daily drivers as well if you just need a bomb-proof shoe.

Sizing

These follow typical sneaker sizing, and will likely be a little different than your boot sizing if you've ordered from us before. Typically, this means its about a half size larger than your boot size.

Specs

  • Aggressive non-slip trail-running outsoles
  • Leather reinforced construction
  • Hexagonal breathable mesh lining
  • Cushiony tongue and interior lining
  • Reinforced heel
  • gel-cushioned replaceable insole

Condition

  • Most are Like new with signs of very light use on the sole (dirt, salt) but others may have more from training.

Bought two pairs

Loved them so much I bought a second pair, great for work when I added some shock cord laces to them.

Wow! It's a shoe!

It's very much a shoe, you put your foot inside of it and it protects your feet all nice like!

Memes aside, it's a comfy piece of footwear. I have yet to really put them through what they were designed to do, but they don't feel at all uncomfortable on my feet. The cushioning on the heel and the depth of the tread is just how I prefer women, extra thick.

I will say, that initially they might not seem like they will fit. The 'mouth' of the shoe is tighter than a muslims asshole going through airport security. I thought it was going to be a problem, but it was not. After squeezing through, the shoe is surprisingly roomy with plenty o' room to wiggle my toesies.

The pro to having such a secure fit on the opening of the shoe is it's very unlikely to buckle and come off should your laces loosen or something while on a trek. Each step also feels very stable, it feels secure to my feet in a way I've never felt with any other low cut shoe like this.

The con is that having to squeeze your foot in and out of them often, and perhaps walking itself, will deteriorate the fabric padding on the heel much faster than a normal fitting shoe. Such is life.

Would recommend for the outdoor enthusiast.

Does not come with spider.

Excellent Daily Drivers

These shoes are phenomenal for daily wear! I bought them a month ago and absolutely waited on my review until I’d worn them a lot. They’re sturdy, (mostly) comfortable, and offer good support. Very unassuming - if you’re the type who likes sneakers with subdued colors rather than bright hues, these will do great. Match with almost any attire!

My only complaint - which I’m not knocking a star off for - is that my pair feels very narrow. That, however, is not the fault of the shoe. I have clown feet. Flippers. Snowshoes, but feet. You know those footprints from bigfoot they keep finding out in the Rocky Mountains? That’s me, walking around barefoot because I can’t find a shoe wide enough. So while these squeeze my feet a bit uncomfortably - it’s not their fault. Give them a chance! You’d pay $60 easily for a pair of sneakers of comparable quality.

Best money I spent on athletic shoes

I was in the market for some new running shoes because my over a decade old Nikes ran its course. I saw these, and I figured for the money why not. I could've paid double, and I still would be happy.

Great Shoes

I am used to having to spend $100+ for decent running shoes, but these are by far the most comfortable I have worn.

I have not had these for long, and just broke them in, so I can't say much for durability yet, but they look solid.
