"Costume Use Only"
Slim-fitting and comfortable with no obvious bulges, this vest easily conceals standalone ballistic and anti-stab panels, allowing the user to adjust their protection level. Manufactured to German SK1 standard, roughly analogous to NIJ Level II (if you're unfamiliar with armor standards, give this a read)
What you see in the product images is an example of what to expect, but most of these come from a mix of manufacturers, so you may not get exactly what is pictured. what you are getting is a concealable vest with SK1 soft armor inserts that have expired but are still useable (as a "costume" of course).
We've tested similar SK1-Rated Vests that were unissued, and you can read about our results here. We can't guarantee their performance beyond that of "costume" usage.
Specs
- For costume purposes only
- Low-pro velcro secured shoulder and side straps
- Front anti-stab and ballistic panel for both front and back
- SK1 (Roughly NIJ Level II) rated protective inserts in the front and back
- Zippered front and rear soft armor pouches
- Panels accessed via zipper closure
- Comes in Khaki, White, or Blue
Sizing
Velcro on the vest allows a wide range of sizing to be accommodated. Vests will be able to fit a size larger, or smaller than as noted.
Condition
As mentioned, the vests come from a variety of manufacturers and may have been issued or previously used.
A majority of the white colorway vests are made by Mehler, like our unissued black vests. The khaki and blue colorway vests are from differing manufacturers and are slightly older.
Be sure to take the armor inserts out and inspect the expiry date, the SK1 rating lasts a little longer than NIJ rated inserts, but doesn't last forever, hence we can only guarantee these "for costume purposes only"

Slim protection
Good concealability on this vest. Under a thin dress shirt, you see a few lines, but not noticable at a glance. Under a thick work shirt or jacket you won't see a thing. Despite being used, the white armor was clean with minimal sign of use.

Excels in Defense
Now I’ve used several types of concealable vests before, but this one is by far my favorite. It fits snug and true to size, and it feels quite comfortable when worn. After a minor dispute at the local bar I can say that it holds up against what I can assume were 9mm rounds. Other than a nasty bruise to my sternum I feel fine! Thank you KommandoStore for keeping me safe from the local town drunks once again!

Feels solid
Haven't had a chance to go to any costume parties, but recently we did some light "cosplay" at my hospital and it worked great.
