A no-nonsense full-length boot sock manufactured for standard issue in the East German "National People's Army." Complete with its own Soviet Design Bureau branding and unique sizing system (screw you West Germany), the Strumpfkombinat or Combat Sock is an all-purpose lightweight wool sock.
From what we can tell the sock itself is designed for active use in warmer weather. The lighter weight construction and thick ribbing mitigate sweat while providing a low friction, lightly padded sock suitable for duty use.

Fit nicely, breathe well, decently priced, not much else to say. If you're getting boots, get these too.

Guten socken
I've abandoned cotton socks completely in favor of wool, and these are perfect for summer if you like to wear boots.

Good Socks, Acquire More
Decent socks. They do not wear out as quickly as my cotton socks, are more comfortable, and maintain their shape better. Would definitely buy again. Surplus cotton socks are no substitute.
