Mountain House MCW Variety Pack

Includes all Six available MCW menus. Beef Stew is all gone, but don't let that stop you.

Official Preparation Instructions

  1. Add 8-16 (check package) ounces of hot water (~⅓ canteen cup) to pouch
  2. Stir, wait ~5-10 minutes until fully rehydrated
  3. Hot water can be added in stages to keep food hot.

Recommended Best Practices

  • Meals should be fully hydrated per the official instructions, and left to fully absorb the water.
  • Eating too fast can mess with your mood, your metabolism, and your digestive system. Pace yourself and eat at a normal speed.
  • Rehydrating the meal just means that the meal is rehydrated. You are still in charge of hydrating yourself. Make sure to drink adequate water.
  • Minimize exposure to direct sunlight and temperatures above 75°F to maximize shelf life. Like most things, if stored in a dry cool place it will last longer. Proprietary Mountain House packaging preserves flavor until 2029, and viable calories beyond that.

Delicious and light

Wonderfully compact, absurdly light, and delicious enough for you to eye wantingly from afar while browsing your pantry.

It's like I'm actually eating real food

Nothing much to say about these besides they are the same offerings as their commercial civilian line from Mountain House. 30 years shelf life like their commercial ones but these are tacticool compact, you can fit these inside that S.A.W. pouch you bought from LBT (you don't actually own one) for when you get hungry during Milsim West!

also the Spicy Oriental Chicken and Vegetables is one of the unique offerings for these MCW's because they discontinued it and you can't really get the civilian ones anymore. It sucks since it's absolutely tasty.

Sustenance bricks

I've had good experiences with Mountain House in the past when camping. While sometimes visually unappealing, the meals are tasty and always very filling. Their military contract product appears to be their usual, but more.

The bricks are compact, weigh almost nothing and come wrapped in that thick plastic you associate with typical MREs. I have confidence that they will last until I need to hurry somewhere with little preparation in an emergency.
