It works.

If you need a beater hatchet for splitting wood or tossing in the truck bed it works for that. Needs to be ground down a lot to work as a good bushcraft/camp axe axe, but 90% of people won't need to do that. As a Canadian Forester, a person who uses an ax regularly for work, and a perfectionist when it comes to tools, it wouldn't be my first choice but its better than what you can find at most hardware stores.

Plus side is the handles are well made, with true grained, properly oriented European ash that looks better than almost all other handles on the market. Something like this is a good basis for a project as head geometry and handle design are good, but need some work to realize their full potential. If you want a splitting wedge, its ready to go, and if you want something a bit more versatile and can get it tuned up, go for it as this has a lot of potential.

Looks like a neat hatchet

This thing is Swiss, hefty, slick, Swiss, unsharpened, ready for sharpening, and then industrial scale deforestation one hatchet swing at a time

Great multi use tool

I swing this thing menacingly at groups of women that try to swarm me when I'm wearing my waxi boots out and about. It seems to do a good job of keeping them at bay. I guess you could use it for gardening as well. Or if you sharpen the adze end, you could hew a log.

My krieg is saved

Shovels were not cutting it to dig the trenches needed to beat the enemy. The pickaxe cut through the rock with ease, and the hatchet allowed me to get wood for fortifications.

Great Hatchet

Appears to be a well made and nicely sized large hatchet/small axe. The head is firmly attached and has no wiggle, and the handle is very solid and a nice length. As advertised, it comes very dull so you'll have to profile and sharpen it, but it's easy to sharpen with a file and some sharpening stones. It's hefty enough to split small logs, but not too big and heavy to be a pain to put in a pack. Overall a very nice axe and a good size for a camp axe.
