Designed to carry a Thales PRC-148 Radio, this odd but useful pouch is roomy, bombproof, and can be repurposed for all sorts of communications equipment.

The case itself has 3 interior divided compartments, and two exterior pouches. These were originally designed for the PRC-148 itself, the H-250 handset, and two antennas (the "blade" folding antenna and a whip style antenna if you disassembled the gooseneck). The longer of the three interior compartments is best for the antennas. The outer two pockets on the exterior would hold spare batteries and the Push-to-talk units.

If you aren't the proud owner of these exact items, a lot of radios and radio accessories can fit in here - many Baofengs, Anytones, Motorolas, and other handheld radios fit snug even with their extended batteries, and the other compartments serve well to store things like antennas and PTTs/folding antenna kits to expand your capabilities in the field. The other pockets can fit extras like SDR dongles, battery chargers, and of course the extra batteries themselves.

For mounting, the carriers feature two sets of ALICE clips, which can be mounted onto PALS webbing or if you're crazy you can go Navy SEAL thigh-rig mode with your belt and a thigh strap and really capture the early 2000s operator spirit. Everything is a simple pouch flap secured with adjustable ITW Fastex buckles, and some even come pre-tidied with electrical tape (which we can't deny keeps things pretty clean and out of the way).

A specific pouch for a specific use? sure, but if you're inventive or radio-crazy it's definitely worth picking up.

Good quality, somewhat alright for hams.

It was definitely purpose-built for the 148. The two main pockets are enough to carry two HTs without antennas. The long pocket is good for long whip antennas, but the rubber duck antennas that come from the factory can be an issue to get out.

It does mount on PALS, but depending on the bag, it might be too long to attach the bottom tabs on.

Overall, good for carrying HTs, as long as you've got the bag for it, and you don't mind putting the antenna back on.

Great radio carrier

It's bigger than I was expecting. Roomy pockets and plenty of them for different pieces of equipment. The antenna pocket alone can hole 2-3+ antennae. If you're into serious radio usage (I'm a Ham radio operator myself) this carrier is enough to help you become a walking radio station! Here it is with my EDC Baofeng UV5R for a reference.

Great condition, neat pouch.

Makes for a fantastic and unique field cleaning kit. Rods, brushes, solvents, ouchie-kit; Surprisingly everything has a place and easy to get into in a hurry in between stages.
