French Rubber Dufflebag

Ever look at your Vietnam-era rubberized poncho and think I wish there were bags made of this? No? Well they exist anyway, and they're here, and you can buy them. These sturdy waterproof backpacks keep the messy outdoors out of your stuff. Trusted by the French military to keep their venison MREs and Kepis dry during jungle warfare and rainy/foggy Euro-weather, this rubbery  backpack is perfect for trekking through the rain or the wetlands. Cavernous 80-liter capacity can serve as a 72-hour pack or contain a small child.

    Big Rubber Baguette Bag

Posted by Zee on Sep 27th 2017

So far, I haven't really gotten to test it's waterproofing, but the one I got in "good" condition seems like it'd hold up just fine. The bag comes dusty with a little bit of dirt (or crumbs, maybe) in it. I recommend turning the bag inside out, rinsing with a hose, and leaving to dry, and throw the straps in with your laundry.
