Released towards the very end of the Cold War, this belt was a component in the third generation of the East German UTV load bearing system. You can see this reflected in the materials and construction used — the just-before-the-wall-broke UTV closely mirrors more modern load bearing systems and has a more ergonomic design.
On its own, the UTV belt works well anywhere a traditional "pistol belt" is needed. It is simple, solid, and adjustable to fit nearly everyone.
Specs
- One size fits most (adjustable, 42" maximum)
- 25" nylon webbing
- Adjustable 'C'-hook closure

Wonderful belt for quick access
Tried it out a couple times going out for a walk, and it clips on and off quickly no few second hassle with holes. Just unclip, let slip, and squat. Also works for load bearing if you're into that. If you have a nylon holster stick it on the side, loosen the belt, slant it, and you can pretend to be a post-apocalyptic cowboy. Can also serve as a makeshift bandoleer since you can adjust the size.

Solid belt!
The belt clip's a bit interesting, but that's just the German's fault for being weird. Perfect for my East German ammo pouches, and super easy to get stuff on and off. (Not to mention it looks super cool~)

Wider than expected but...
It was wider than expected. I intended on using it as a belt for my pants. Instead I now use it as a very handy canteen belt for my East German rucksack, which really does pair well (almost as if they were made for each other... Wait a minute...) So I will definitely still use it, probably even more now that I have found out more about it!
