For Costume Use Only
Rome was built on the back of Greek politics, pasta was inspired by Asian noodles from Marco Polo's travels, and Beretta improved on Walther's P-38 with the 92. The Italian Peninsula has always been a hub of refinement, and when it comes to the SEPT2 ballistic helmet—things are no different.
If you take the PASGT helmet as a starting point, you've got a fairly good idea of what you're signing on for with one of these: solid protection for your head, temple, and ears from pistol threats and shrapnel. The SEPT2 is also pretty comfortable, easy to adjust, and quick to don and doff. These '90s-style helmets may have been declared obsolete by the Italian government, but they hold up pretty good. (And to be fair, a lot of the Italian army still uses the SEPT2, so take that as you will...)
We Shot it a Bunch
Legally speaking we can't recommend these for anything other than 'costume use.' Of course that didn't stop us from shooting one. Our conclusion? These helmets are roughly NIJ II. In our casual test the helmet stopped NATO spec 124gr 9x19 and super hot Egyptian +P+ smg ammo. A human head likely wouldn't have a great day, but we weren't able to penetrate the helmet.
These helmets are a limited-time offering. We aren't expecting to get more in, so grab one while you can!

Awesome
Bought this helmet because I was guessing it would go out of stock quite fast. Not a bad purchase at all, and as it is my very first piece of military gear I really can’t stop wearing it. Putting the cover on was a bit hard but I figured it out. As for the chin straps, I haven’t figured them out but it’s okay. Good helmet! As described, it only had a few blemishes. It contained only one piece of writing, a mere “33” that is covered by the helmet cover.

WORKED AS ADVERTISED
Did great at stopping .22lr and 9mm. Slight headaches occurred when .45lc made its appearance. Massive brain trauma when 45-70 performed two lobotomies. Chinstrap worked before before one of the 45-70s hit something and blew the helmet into orbit. Both rounds were inside the Kevlar. It held up amazingly well, I can't wait to see what 7.5x55 does to it.

Wow!
Top-notch helmet, especially for the price. Mine arrived in excellent condition; -better than expected. It shows no signs of any real use. The cover fits well as does the helmet in general. As other reviews have reported, there is some black dust that comes off due to the age of the foam affixed to the circular piece in the center of the liner. One could easily scrape it off if they wanted. It doesn't bother me and the rest of the innards are all in excellent working order. Definitely very pleased with this purchase. Thanks again, Kommandostore!

Great helmet in need of a little TLC!
My helmet arrived as expected, in need of aligning the webbing and straps for my head size. After that, I noticed the pads were turning into the black sandy mess old foam breaks down into. The nice thing, pads are available, and the better pads increase the bump rating nicely!
I have the pads on order from Skydex, which are better than the original pads by a mile.

Nice helmet, chinstrap just a little bit too tight
Everything about the helmet was pretty nice, only thing I didn’t like was the chinstrap but that could be gotten used to after a little while.
