Issued widely for decades, the Gorka (Горка) or "little mountain" is a favorite among Russian and ex-Soviet bloc forces. It is a tough three season suit which excels at shrugging off heavy use and rough conditions. Over the last three years, we've worked to bring the Gorka into the 21st century—resulting in two distinct lines of mountain suit. Originally designed for Russia's mountain troops, the Gorka concept spread rapidly. Its full coverage, generous cut, and high mobility won it quick and lasting adoption around the world. However, like many pieces of Russian military technology the Gorka had a neglect problem.

After its introduction in the Soviet-Afghan war, the Gorka was never substantially modernized. Over the years Russian manufacturers made minor tweaks and updated camouflages, but the core design of the Gorka was left unchanged. 40 years is a long time in military technology, so in 2018 we introduced a suite of upgrades we called the "Gorka K."

The first K Gorka—the K1—addressed a ton of problems with the old Gorka design. However we quickly ran into a dilemma; improving the Gorka further depended on your definition of "improvement." Our team quickly formed into two separate camps: Gorka traditionalists who wanted to improve the fit and function of the Gorka, but not disrupt it's Russian blood. And Gorka modernists who wanted a more Western approach to camouflage, ergonomics and functionality.

While several ergonomic and functional improvements are shared across the K2 and M1 Gorkas, this genetic split has allowed us to take them in separate directions. The K2 features Russian camouflage, Russian pocketing, and a simpler design with less moving parts. By contrast, the M1 has been designed to work better with Western plate carrier systems, and has PCU style armpit zippers, bicep pockets, and a hearty dose of Russian 'Reindeer Moss' camouflage.

Trim and Tight

Both our M and K series Gorkas feature integrated gaiters and blousing bands. Just pull them on—no snagging, no debris, perfect fit.

First Line, Everytime

Now compatible with modern combat belts thanks to a modified rise and reinforced belt line. Don't worry though, the suspenders still work.

Blowout Proof

A generous crotch gusset ensures complete freedom of movement. Squat to your hearts content, your pants will be fine.

Detail Oriented

The little things add up. We used high quality trim and incorporated tons of small ergonomic improvements throughout the M1 and K2.

Owl Neck Hood

Fully articulated hood delivers 180 degrees of unrestricted movement. Move naturally and it comes with you.

M1 Specific Enhancements

A reconfigured front closure makes the M series Gorka more comfortable with Western armor carriers. This is complemented by PCU style bicep pockets, armpit zips for comfort, and green reinforcement panels.

“You too”

Overall, solid field blouse. You’ll get called on stolen valor and thanked for your service due to the Army multicam similarity to the uninitiated. Doesn’t help I’m 6’3” 220lbs and in the words of my selection officer “Built like a brick shit house”. The way to not catch a feddy is explaining this, “multicam doesn’t fuck hard enough fedboy”

Utility wise, it fairs extremely well in warmer temperatures, it makes a great separating layer from the elements. Layer up in colder environments and you’ll be gucci.

Oh and no Ip’ing necessary. Held up in field for 3 days continuous wear! Highly recommend it.

Pockets are good, zippered armpits are phenomenal. 10/10

Awesome light jacket that can become warm when needed.

So I've been looking for a good utilitarian Multicam-style light jacket for general use and hiking and being a bigger guy, finding military-themed stuff that will actually fit is hard. Particularly European-themed stuff. So I got this jacket thinking I can always return it if I need, but it actually fits amazing. If anything, it's almost slightly too big (and slightly too short since they didn't have my height in stock). But that works great because layering with this jacket works a treat. With a German BW Parka Liner or a fleece of some sort, this jacket becomes an absolute greenhouse. The wind resistance is great and it doesn't lock in sweat like some modern gore-tex designs can. Yeah, it's not the most water resistant, but it holds it off for long enough and with a liner you stay warm enough. But its breathable that even when you get too warm, you don't STAY too warm. As is, its good until about 50F before it starts getting too warm, and about 30F before it starts getting too cold. It's a perfect spring/fall/chilly summer day jacket with the ability to be warm for most winter duties with a simple fleece or other liner. Overall, AMAZING jacket. Only thing I would change is the poofiness of the lower arms and I would add a couple more pockets, probably in the breast area like an M65 or BW Parka (my other favorites).

Very nice, high five!

Overall decent quality. Comparable to top tier brands such as Crye or Patagonia, but maybe a slightly less refined feel than the mentioned names. Definitely worth the price. Very durable material, lots of crawling around in dirt and rocks, hiking, shooting, and soon skiing. Used as a single layer over a t-shirt, however I'll probably use as an outer layer especially during the winter. What can I say, great product. Here are some cringe ass photos that I'll probably regret posting later. Don't dox me.

good product very thick.

compared to other jackets this one is a lot thicker but keep in mind if you are going to be in the field for a long time or just camping you really should wear a base layer or over your normal uniform. I do like the button zipper combo
