Bulgarian TM-62M Landmine Crate

By popular request, we are now selling original TM-62M landmine crates, available with or without a full complement of training mines. Weighing in at a solid 31 pounds, each wooden crate is about the size of a medium foot locker (roughly 90L of capacity.) They are built slav-tough too, enough to safely protect 90 lbs of HE during rough wartime handling.

All of our TM-62M crates have been used in field exercises, and show signs of being unpacked, repacked and stored in warehouses around Bulgaria. All are in solid structural condition---the wear that is present is the type that gives combloc surplus its character and authenticity.

Two condition grades are available depending on your preferences. If you're the type that enjoys wood working and refinishing projects 'Project Condition' is the way to go. Break out the belt sander and the lacquer and have a party in a well ventilated place---we promise it'll be a good time.

If that sort of thing isn't quite your cup of tea, we have 'Arsenal Refinished' a large number of crates. These crates are spiffed up for more immediate use in your home, garage, or Eastern European compound. The interior is cleaned, oiled, and waxed---ready for whatever you have in mind. On the exterior t's up to you whether to keep the original paint and markings or completely sand and repaint.

Specs

  • Ships free to CONUS and APO/AE addresses
  • 31 pounds, Painted wood with metal hinges
  • Measures 29" x 14" x 14"
  • Designed to be stacked or put in a row, very strong structural integrity
  • Great for low coffee tables, "living room islands" etc---replacing the top lid with glass is an easy and low budget way to make a great display piece
  • Both conditions show normal signs of use---when packed with mines each box weighs around 120 lbs, resulting in dings scrapes and other character during handling.

Condition

Arsenal Refinished

All dirt, grime, mud and other contaminants have been brushed or air blasted off, with special attention paid to the interior. Exposed wood on the inside has been treated with boiled linseed oil and coated with finishing wax. All rust has been cured and removed with rust converter. For a glossy external finish, we do suggest considering a clear coat varnish---however this is definitely not 'cannon' for Eastern Bloc surplus.

Project Condition

Dust, dirt, grime and whatever else the Bulgarians could cake on is caked on. We have not reconditioned or altered the crate from it's original condition. Spotting or rust may exist on the hinges and no wax coating has been applied to the inside.
