The Raptor M646 is a 6x Gen III Night Vision Scope.

These scopes are PD trade ins from Kentucky State Police. Each scope comes with the factory case and Picatinny mount. Some but not all will include the operator's manual and a small lens cleaning kit as well.

When the scopes first arrived in our warehouse they were in mixed states of repair and operation.  With the help of Wilcox Engineering & Research every scope has been refurbished and tested with the upmost care. Each unit has been zeroed, nitrogen purged, parallax checked, recoil rated... The works.

Recommended Best Practices

  • Use Lithium batteries, not alkaline. Better power and less risk of corrosive damage
  • Never remove the objective lens cap in daylight or daylight equivalent light. The Gen III image intensifying tubes in these scopes are not autogated. Exposing the objective lens to bright light will shorten the life of the tube, and can even cause permanent damage. Do not remove the lens cap in daylight---even if the unit is powered off. Do not deliberately aim the optic at bright lights or high powered IR illumination during night use.
  • Make sure your optic is properly secured to your weapons platform prior to use. Improperly secured optics can magnify recoil forces. This can cause damage.
  • Bright light shutoff activates automatically after extended exposures (approximately 1 minute). Power cycling will return the optic to it's normal state if the shutoff has been activated.

Recoil Rating

The "Relative Halo" measurement of a image intensifying tube has a direct effect upon the maximum amount of recoil it can sustain. The manufacture (NVEC) tested these optics on a standard M-14 firing only 7.62 x 51 NATO M80 ammo.

From these tests they concluded a Halo value of 1.1 to 1.25 minimum is necessary for the optic to operate safely with your average semi automatic 7.62 rifle.

For stronger cartridges, or bolt action / manual firearms you will need a larger Halo rating. We have scopes that are rated up to 30-06 bolt action (with no muzzle break).

Note this rating is the designated maximum. Any platform that impacts less force that such is compatible for use. All of these scopes are clear for use with virtually any 223/556 platform.

  • Semi Auto 7.62 Rated: These have a Relative Halo of 1.19 to 1.55
  • Bolt Action 30-06 Rated: These have a relative Halo of 1.67
