"Costume Use Only"
The "Rába" flak jacket has been issued to the Hungarian Defense Forces since the '90s, first seeing action during the NATO led SFOR and KFOR missions during the Yugoslav Wars. Designed in response to the changing face of warfare, this line of armor's seen continual improvements to support Hungary's peacekeeping operations at home and abroad. These days they're mostly reserved for training exercises and police use, but we were excited to get our hands on the 2002M model, which entered service in 2002 and was phased out just over a decade ago.
Featuring nylon construction, with built-in torso, shoulder, and neck kevlar inserts, these vests also include an interior clip belt and adjustable velcro straps to ensure a snug, comfortable fit. They're surprisingly thin too, so you could wear one underneath a suitably large winter coat.
Manufactured to meet Level IIIA NIJ standard by the Hungarian government, they held up to 9mm rounds in tests we conducted, and should defend against everything up to .44 magnum rounds. Also included are front and back pouches for ceramic plates for when you want to add another layer of protection. Naturally, these vests are for "costume" use only.
These vests are a limited-time offering. We aren't expecting to get more in, so grab one while you can!

All-around lightweight
I wear between US medium and large, ordered the XL. It seems to be the right fit, not tight and not baggy. The three adjustments on both sides work well, but it helps to have a friend strap you in. This vest promotes teamwork! It is possible to get in and out on your own, but you will chikin wing it a bit to do so. The shoulder guards are held by velcro but seem to make noise often during movement. I feel the front plate pouch could have been put an inch higher, but that's on the designer and it can be moved.
It is surprisingly light considering its surface space and thickness. I would not consider this concealable under a jacket, but it also isn't invasion of iraq interceptor thicc either. The throat-aorta protector is a nice addition, and folds down or is held up pretty securely. Some parts are worn, to be expected for it's age, including one of the side flaps. It overlaps so I am not concerned. For the amount of body covered, it is a nice price.

I love it
Great Gear, Vintage and great condition. It may be old but it feels just as solid as my brand new vest. It also has shoulder protection the new vest doesnt and its much more comfortable!

That was worth hundred fifty doll hairs
Had a girls name written with a marker on the front. Has been restitched and has a lot of character. A lot of old Kevlar for the money. It’s probably not enough to stop the highest level round for the certification anymore, but I bet it would stop a hard 9mm round just fine.
