To clean your Gas mask:

Gather a rag, bucket, soapy water, cotton balls, and the mask in a clean space. For soap, we highly recommend something ammonia based like Windex or generic glass cleaner. Do not use alcohol, as it dries out rubber.

  1. First remove any filters attached. You don’t clean filters, you replace them.
  2. Soak your rag in the soapy water and wipe off the large parts of the mask. Rub away dirt, grime, particles and anything else that shouldn’t be there.
  3. Next soak the cotton balls in the soapy water and rub the inside of the glass, around the nose piece and anywhere your mouth sets on the rubber. Make sure to get behind the folded edges and everywhere else. Wipe off the buckles and straps too. Leave your gas mask in a cool place out of the sun to dry and you are all set to head back into the zone, the job-site, or whatever unsavory airspace you happen to find yourself in.

When originally released in 1995, 3M’s M95 gas mask was one of the premier NBC rated gas masks on the market. Featuring a generous field of view, and resilient, fold-able construction the M95 was the choice of first responders, tactical teams, and militaries across the world — most notably Finland, who was an early adopter of the mask and continues to use it to this day.

Among the key features of the M95 is a pliable rubber face-piece which is designed with a wide variety of users in mind. The rubber is soft and highly flexible — shaping easily to each individual user for comfort and safety. The design of the cheek filter inlets is slim and ambidextrous, allowing for the easy use of rifles to be shouldered by left and right-handed shooters.

Per the manufacturer’s original specifications, the M95 is rated for a variety of chemical, nuclear, and biological agents. The US military employed live agents, such as Sulphur Mustard and Sarin to validate the design. In 2013 Scott (3M) discontinued the M95 and now recommends a newer, similar product for CBRN use---Scott now recommends the M95 is now for ‘NIOSH’ standard threats like chemical spills and airborne particulates…

Technically the masks in this lot are past their 3M specified 20 year shelf life. While we cannot recommend that anyone intentionally venture into a hazardous environment with them—the M95 gas mask should in theory still provide protection as long as it passes fit and leak tests.

Free Replacements, Returns, & Size Exchanges:

We are happy to offer replacements, returns, and size exchanges absolutely free of charge on this product. If you are not absolutely satisfied with the fit, seal, or condition of your mask please let us know within 2 weeks of product delivery.

Fit and Seal Testing:

Testing the fit and seal of your respirator is important. Every face and head is unique, and what may work on one person may not work on you. Because of this, it is crucial to inspect and leak test your M95 mask prior to use.

For information on how to fit and test your mask, a guide can be found here as well as an instructional video.

Condition:

These M95 masks are in used, very good condition from a large agency trade-in. All necessary rubber components and eye lenses are intact. Drinking hole cover may be cracked or removed, but this does not compromise the utility of the mask. Expect light handling marks from storage and shipping, and the occasional written rack number or officer name.

This thing is a GAS!

The mask arrived in excellent shape, with no cracks on the straps or tearing or around the buckles. The mask is very comfortable, and much lighter than my masks from Avon(m50) or MSA(Ultra Elite, Phalanx). The diaphragm is in great shape, and talking with it on isn't nearly as much of a challenge is it is with my m50. The filter location is also convenient for establishing a good cheekweld. I had some concerns about visibility, but there's only a slight limit to my field of view at the sides of my vision which is pretty typical of any gas mask.

Worth it

Got this as a gift so far its seals well and is pretty comfortable, only thing wrong is the cap is broke for the drinking and a bit of a scratch on right eye though I don't really notice it when I wear it highly recommend solid gas mask.
