The M65 is probably one of the most stubborn, unchanging garments in the entirety of the US army's vast library, as well as store shelves. Even if you're not too familiar with US military garment name jargon, you'd recognize it as being the jacket sported by Rambo, The Terminator, and Robert Deniro in Taxi Driver.

Underneath it commonly lived this liner, an optional extra that added an extra layer of winter coziness to the venerable field jacket. Simply align the center and sleeve buttons and it's a perfect fit. Even on its own, it's incredibly comfy on chilly days.

Very similar in construction to the Woobie poncho liner, its construction consists of a quilted 3 ply ripstop nylon cloth. If you want to get technical, it's sewn exactly to the specs of a Type IV Class 1 Style of MIL-B-41826 quilted polyester synthetic fiber battings. yeah, the military gets specific about this kind of stuff. to the point of revising it 13 times from 1965 to 1999.

One of the best parts about these is regardless if you own a vintage or more recent M65, if it has the appropriate buttons this will fit no matter what.

A Note On Sizing & Fit

As is best practice with most US military garments, your best bet is to use your US T-shirt size. You might notice the lack of length sizing in contrast to many of the US military's garments. On their own, these tend to run a little short but not necessarily small. This is because they're meant for having a more athletic fit underneath the M65. If you'd like a looser fit, simply size up.

Does what it says it does.

Combined with other layers this thing will keep you warm, even in the frozen wasteland that is Alaska.
