The M90 Field jacket comes in the classic 70's iteration of "jigsaw".
Originally developed in 1956, Belgian "Jigsaw" camo consists of rusty earth, "bottle" green and khaki green elements amidst smaller, black and white shapes.
Belgian Jigsaw has a much tamer history than the rest of Belgium, originally developed in 1956, the pattern consists of rusty earth, "Bottle" green and khaki green elements amidst smaller, black and white shapes. Originally intended for use in Europe it also worked suspiciously well in the Congo. There were 4 generations of "Jigsaw" issued over it's 66 year reign, with minor pattern changes and improvements in fabrics, with the final jigsaw pattern seeing the removal of the bits of white prevalent in previous patterns.
Featuring a heavyweight cotton weave and reinforced elbows, along with a plethora of zippered pockets. It's ability to safely carry a variety of half eaten Belgian waffles is unrivaled. The adjustable waist and hem ensure your temperature stays controlled, just like the Congolese under King Léopold II. Meanwhile the buttonable cuffs and collar keep the warm air in and the cold out. Field Jackets are in great condition, with no tears, cuts, or holes. All hardware is intact, and functional. May exhibit minor signs of use, or variations to the jigsaw pattern shown.
Sizing
This shipment came with mostly short and long sizes, in a fit of Belgian Genius.
We've had customers inquire about the length of the sleeves — they do run short than most jackets. If you size up to a "long" this will help the issue, but you may have a shorter chest length as a result.
As for chest size, we'd recommend going with your usual jacket size. With the hip and waist drawstrings any slack in your jacket can be taken up easily.
Very great condition, scarce signs of wear, very soft and comfy.
There's two smaller pockets inside the front lower ones which are closed by velcro, which is neat but oddly don't have any tabs to grab onto so it's difficult to access.
Also mine came with some used earplugs and a suspicious note with 4 names on it.
A little too big but no biggie, it will look great in the fall/winter. Would look even better with matching pants :)
Came in on time, stinked a little, was a little too big? (I'm 6'3 and ordered the Large/Long), but that's all good. I think it came with a manifesto? And sick ass jigsaw sticker too!! AWESOME! 5 Stars!
Fits me very well which is a little hard to come by with surplus and gear in general because I'm pretty skinny and I love the obscure camo
