One of the last to give up solid color uniforms, Austria's Bundesheer recently switched to a (vomits internally) digital camouflage pattern. Mercifully, this new pattern of greens, grays, and tan is actually functional in Austria's urban and mountain environments. It's like UCP, except it actually works. Beneath this new camo you'll find all the cultural autism of Germanic peoples, with sensible pocket arrangements, stout closures, and durable construction.

These Austrian field shirts feature ripstop fabric—battle-tested reinforcement with the strength to resist tears while keeping the fabric comfortable, lightweight, and quick drying. Roomy pockets and sturdy construction make these shirts perfect all-around attire. The green/gray Tarnanzug camouflage is tastefully understated, making it a great fit for either a night out(side, leering through the window) at the neighborhood bar, or for going innawoods with the boys. If these shirts can stand up to the rigorous use that tens of thousands of Austrian servicemen will put them through, they can work for you too.

Day 65 of operation schnitzel drip--we are outfitted with the finest digital uniforms, the most beautiful girls, and the most hideous rifles. I'm attached to the 190th Drinking Habsburgs as a special Pomp Advisor, yet we have not yet chosen a side in WWIII. Still, the lager must flow. Please write to my fiance, and ask her if she's neutral.

Simple quality BDU top in a great pattern

Another thing I didn't need. Main pockets are 2 chest and 2 shoulder, with high-quality zippers; 3 loops on the inside of the chest to retain pens/glow sticks/IV's/crayons. I believe these accommodate a style of soft foam elbow pad like the original UCP ACU's did, cause there's velcro facing downards and a pocket lining up with that area (the pants have something similar but their position seems a hair too low, but these feel just right).

Like the pants, a nice soft feel to the fabric, almost but not quite FRACU soft, with distinctive checkerboard ripstop patterning. Stuff is NEW NEW, still got strings to cut. Some dimple holes in the arm pits for ventilation. The sizing equates to US Army "small short" which I have been my entire life and they fit just like that, which because I'm a manlet, is slightly baggy for me, but that's cause I'm on the bottom end of the range.

But unlike the matching pants, I feel these sleeves are a typical, long length, where the cuffs go beyond my wrists when arms are straight down. I'm a manlet, so not the best judge of these things, but the back/shoulder area seems like it's generously spacious for upper body mass, and that probably scales up the sizes, US Army coats IMO tended to run a tad tight around the neck shoulders.

The name of the game for these and the pants is mobility.
