Our SOPAKCO Brown Bag MREs are made in 2022, Inspect By August-September 2025. Typically MREs have a total shelf life of 7 years, meaning these are theoretically good until 2029, but an "inspection" is done to ensure MREs haven't been unsealed or otherwise deemed unfit for consumption by the US Military. We carefully sort out any blem MREs but we encourage you to store them in a room temperature location that doesn't pose a risk for insects or other critters to break the seal.

Allergen Information

USGI MREs are formulated with "General Consumption" in mind, which, unfortunately does not take into account the vast array of common food allergies. we highly encourage you to thoroughly read the list of ingredients on the contents of each menu item.

MREs commonly contain the "Big 9" - Milk, Eggs, Fish, Shellfish, Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Wheat, Soybeans, and Sesame.

In addition, other ingredients that can trigger food sensitivities found in MREs are Corn, Peas, Artificial colors & dyes, MSG, Sulfites, and other food additives.

Cross contamination is also possible, so if you have severe allergies exercise caution around MREs.

Tuna MRE Mispacking

If you're ordering the Tuna MRE menu, be advised that per many reports on the internet, it may not actually contain the tuna entree due to a mixup at the contractor's manufacturing facility.

By ordering, you're accepting the risk that it doesn't contain the tuna, because we do not accept returns on consumable items as per our standard policy.
