Great jack
It was actually in really good condition with no damage at all to it. Perfect for heavy rain in the south as well as keeping me warm and dry at work.
Merry Christmas, You Filthy Animals.
While much of our staff is on holiday break, save sitewide on all of our gear until the new year!
An icon in surplus-wear, this is the British Windproof smock. Now in the ever ubiquitous Multi-Terrain Pattern. Just don’t Crye about the lack of DPM Camouflage.
The demise of DPM in favor of MTP continues the never ending dominance of Crye’s signature pattern. As much as we hate to admit it, the damn colorway just works. Luckily, the British didn’t just copy Multicam exactly, they gave it the God-Save-the-Queen treatment. It’s just different enough to tickle your autism when trying to pair it with other Multicam gear but similar enough that the average lay person won’t notice the difference.
The MTP Windproof Smock is an excellent example of a quality smock that is basically load bearing. Its large chest pockets allow you to store everything from IFAKs to magazines, MRE’s, and a whole lot more. Add in your preferred belt kit and you're ready to ruck in almost any condition.
The adjustable waist and hem of the smock let you seal out any wind incursions from below. And with a wire-reinforced adjustable hood you can keep your tactical awareness, while keeping your bussin fr fr no cap hairstyle (I'm sorry for writing this) safe and protected. Especially since the hoods are oversized to fit large, unshapely Bri’ish helmets. If you paid attention in science class, note that these windproof smocks aren’t necessarily rain-resistant, but a quick trip to the local sporting goods store for some rattle can waterproofing can fix that in a jiffy.
These Smocks come in two distinct generations, which we've bolded the differences in the specifications list below.

Sizing
These smocks are measured in cm using height and chest circumference. The sizing intervals are decently far apart, so you may want to round up or down depending on how you want the shirt to fit (tight like a shirt, or looser like a jacket).
Condition
Smocks are in great condition, with only minor signs of use and no holes, cuts, or tears.
It was actually in really good condition with no damage at all to it. Perfect for heavy rain in the south as well as keeping me warm and dry at work.
This smock/jacket is very well made with lots of pockets for holding plenty of ammo, gear, or artifacts (nuggies) when making journeys to exclusion zone (freezer), and coming in a camouflage, that to the untrained eye, would be multicam, but with enough discernment can be clearly identified. In the provided pics, I made mods to the velcro on the left arm because I didn't like the Bri'ish flag and wanted to be able to place any size patch on it, so I did a bit of sewing and placed a loop field on the panel. Oh, did I mention this jacket has a lot of pockets? Because there are about 10 pockets in total with two giant Napoleon-style chest pockets for holding maps, papers, or top secret documents.
I also sprayed some waterproofing treatment on it, but I haven't been able to check how well it works with it being so dry here. I'm sure it will work well, but wish I could have some solid evidence before posting this review. Anyways, I bought this in a large/regular sizing and it fits very well and if you're still on the fence for buying one of these jackets, I hope this review will help get you off of that fence and add it to your collection.
The jacket was in great shape even though the name tag showed that 6 other poor blokes wore this in service before I got ahold of it. Must of been 6 secretaries…….
Slightly large but good for layering
Highly recommended. The one I received is in great condition, apart from missing the wire in the hood. A couple feet of aluminum or brass wire, some patience, 15 minutes (of patience) and presto! Good to go. Best part is that it's already worn and broken in; very comfortable. Much thanks to the previous owner. Great windproof outer layer.
