While still heavily influenced by their big brother in the east, the East Germans simply couldn’t help themselves but be German and say “what if we could make our uniforms more complicated for the lulz?” So they adopted Strichtarn, contrasting to the dull & gray uniforms from over the wall. The now-iconic “rain” pattern was originally developed in Warsaw-Pact Poland, and became a highly proliferated camo in Czechoslovakia & Bulgaria as well.
While somewhat ineffective as a camouflage outside the Great Plains, or Angola, Strichtarn can work extremely well as a fashionable urban surplus enjoyer’s camouflage. Or if you are trying to equip a rebel force on the African Subcontinent. With its numerous pockets and simple yet rugged construction it’s perfect for impersonating everyone's favorite flavor of Germany, Holy Roman Empire aside, while still looking like you have an idea of what fashion looks like.

Another solid purchase from KS. Shirt was in great shape, the shell shows no sign of fading. Seems that mine may have been worn some, but not much, but enough that it was laundered at least once because the threading had started to strand from the ends of the seams, not a deal breaker in any way, as 10min with a pair of scissors and a lighter and all was good. The interior pockets are a soft cotton and will bunch up if you use a dryer, so those will need to be ironed flat, but the shell holds up very well. I’m 5’7” and 130lbs and a size 44 fits very well, when buttoned it fits my form that my lady made several compliments. It’s color and pattern are subtle enough to not draw attention, but yet look stylish enough to turn heads. Also I can easily wear a hoodie with it and it becomes an absolute unit of outerwear. 10/10 well done KS.

I bought 2 of these. I usually wear EU 52, but when I got that one it was pretty big on me compared to other field shirts with the same size, ordered a size down and it fits great. Otherwise they're great

Cleanest piece of East German surp i have yet come across, like new condition. Fit was perfect and I was glad to snap up some strichtarn before it dries up!
