Whether you're camping in crappy weather, hiking in storm season, or stalking warehouse-Ivan for loot drops, you're going to need a solid waterproof coat. The French CCE GoreTex Parka is just what you need.

Issued since the 1990s, the CCE (Camouflage Centre Europe) pattern blends into woodlands and mates perfectly with M81 and similar copies. It's great for stalking game, larping, and embarrassing yourself at family picnics. The GoreTex (or GoreTex-like) tri-laminate shell is waterproof, windproof, and breathable, keeping you dry without turning you into a salty sweat lodge. At under three pounds, it’s a tough PTFE membrane beast, resisting moisture, gunk and grease, and abrasions from branches, rocks, and the driveway under her car.

The cut’s generous for layering, suitable for cold weather and large gentlemen. A quick-release zipper and storm flap seal out the elements, while two front flap pockets and hidden map pockets keep your secret tools for later secure. The stowable hood fits over helmets and YAKUB brains, with an adjustable strap to cinch it tight. Armpit zippers vent heat (and stank), and sealed seams ensure no leaks.

Specs

  • Polycotton blend with GoreTex (or GoreTex-like MVP/tri-laminate) membrane, waterproof, windproof, breathable, fuel/oil-resistant
  • CCE (Camouflage Centre Europe [M81 woodland sideways and Frenchified])
  • About 1.1 kg (2.4 lbs)
  • Generous cut for layering or people who've been fat-layering
  • Heavy-duty zipper with quick-release, snap-down storm flap
  • Two large and in charge front flap pockets
  • Two concealed internal map pockets (great for your embarrassing autism talismans)
  • Stowable hood in collar, helmet and fursuit-compatible with adjustable strap
  • Large armpit zippers for venting atmosphere and asserting your dominance
  • Waterproof tape-sealed seams

Sizing

Parkas follow the standard French military sizing systems with the intended Chest circumference (88cm, 96cm, etc) followed by the length ("C" for short, "R" for regular, and "L" for long). We've found the parkas to run slightly large and long in order to accommodate layers underneath. In other words, if you're a Regular height, the Short size might just work for you.

Please note: Sizes 96C include the front pocket. 88C and 88L do not include the front pocket.

Our model is 6'0", 40cm chest, 200lbs, and wears a 96C size comfortably.

Condition

Parkas are in like-new condition with no cosmetic blemishes, fully functioning hardware, and no signs of use.

I’m ready for rain or snow

Very impressed! Condition appears to be brand new un-issued. I’ve recently been learning to love French Surplus gear. If you’re not familiar with French surplus, you quickly learn that the gear comes with lots of bells and whistles you don’t find from other countries. This thing has pockets galore, and zippers all in pristine condition. The pop out hood when packed almost serves as a pillow around your neck if you had to sleep in the thing. I like how the collar is higher; it’ll cut the wind and cold out on a nasty day. Reinforced arm pads in here. Armpit zippers to air out on hot days. I plan on using this as a standalone rain jacket for LARPing and also for winter/snow conditions. As an American, French CCE is like a frenchy M81; close enough for the apocalypse!

Amazing jacket

This is as good as new. I couldn't have bought a better one for as good for this price. The quality is fantastic. The look is bad a**. And it does a great job keeping out the elements. If you're on the fence, check the sizes. If it will fit you, don't delay. To late, to late, will be the cry, when the store runs out of jackets to buy.

30-50 degree F, Northern Michigan

Wore this as a top layer over my CCE Smock in cold windy conditions in Northern Michigan while camping. It just sheds rain and keeps you dry. Recommend you pair this with a smock and the CCE pants. This combination will keep you effectively dry and warm. Great fit over the smock, but don't expect to close it over the smock unless you size up.

I am 195lbs and 5'8"
