Someone snuck some of these bad boys into the bottom of our Austrian pallet, and boy are we happy they did. This is the shell everyone at KommandoStore has in their trunk. It's the good stuff, designed and produced under contract by a high-end Austrian ski-wear company.

This page should be renamed “Arc'teryx LEAF for 90% off.” We'd probably be sued into the ground by their legal team, but we wouldn't be wrong. You won't have as many fancy sleeve options or secret zippers, but if you want one hell of a Gore-Tex shell, the Austrians made it for you and it's here (and my god is that OD Gore-Tex sexy).

Specs

  • Outer Shell: 100% Polyamid
  • Membrane: 100% PTFE Gore-Tex
  • Inner Lining: 100% Polyamid
  • Zipper-secured closure with double-panel hook and loop storm flap
  • Two low-profile vertical zippered front breast pockets
  • Two low-profile hook and loop hand pockets
  • Internal elastic buckle-adjusted cinch cords at hips and waist
  • Hook and loop patches for nametape and shoulder patches
  • Brimmed hood can be rolled inward, held in place by snaps for storage
  • Adjustable hood drawstrings held in place with loops right under the collar. No more drawstrings flying into your face
  • Optional waterproof zippered underarm vents

Condition

Parkas are in good to great condition. Some use and wear-marks, no holes, tears, or fading.

The only shell you’ll ever need.

My god. From the day I saw this, I knew I had to have it. I prayed and saved up every single penny I had. I cut my grocery budget and skipped meals. I sold my blood. Every single take was worth it. A week after receiving it, it went to the Superior Hiking Trail with me where we completed between 85-90% of the Minnesota portion. It saw rain. It saw snow. It witnessed my flesh turn raw and bleed out. It saw me over mountains and to the edge of the sea. It fought of constant rain from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed. For about 75% of the trip it kept me dry. It’s windproof, waterproof, breatheable. You can catch me wearing it in -20C weather, and 35C humid rainstorms that happen before tornados. It’s bloodproof, it’s cumproof, it’s the only shell you’ll ever need to buy. You can catch me wearing it on the mountain, on the frozen plains, in the basement ska show, on the ski slopes, the lake, river, or in the mall. If you don’t have one you’re missing out.

Amazed

I have to say I was a bit skeptical with Ivan’s Description of the jacket, but when i recieved it, I understood what he was talking about. This is a waterproof shell that is thick enough to keep you warm in cold enviornments and wind. Aditionally, the jacket is roomy enough for layers.

I had sizing issues with Austrian Jackets before and have orded the wrong size in the normal gortex lined parka, so i stepped on the side of caution and ordered a size smaller then usual. To my amazment it fit perfect for everything. Layers included. The sleeves were spot on as well. Overall the quality of the jacket blew me away and am very happy I was able to score this while they were still in stock.

Give Warehouse Ivan more Shekels

Everything came in as perfect as can be. Put it all into the German Alpine backpack. Nice, efficient, what more could you ask for?

excellent jacket

As the title says. Extremely good jacket. I like how you can fold the hood in.

Mine had minor damage which I guess is consistent enough with the described condition- the seam under the visor had split at the top. Its stopped by the place the visor is sewn on but it'll want to open up more over time so I sealed it with glue until I can find a sewing machine or a tailor or something(no membrane there anyways). There was also a tear in the outer shell on the front, on an area where it was roughed up. Nothing unfixable by a patch or if I have to be really autistic a trip to someone who repairs these sorts of things.

If you get one a size too long it'll come something like halfway down your thighs so it'll cover your ass if you 're sitting on a bike in the rain or something.

my favorite feature of the coat is the mystery flap, pictured. Its attached by velcro and I can only imagine what its for.

KommandoStore

Hey Hunter,

Looks like we missed some stuff on your shell, if you'd like to return or get a replacement we'd be happy to do that for you.

I can solve the mystery of the flap for you--that is for holding a the rank tab of the Austrian soldier originally wearing the jacket.
