On all levels except visual, this is a Flecktarn Field shirt. But there's clearly something very, very wrong here.
Made by German textile company "Spekon GmbH", a cursory google search comes up pretty dry, except for the fact that the company in question is pretty good at making parachutes. At some point in time in the late 90s, they were making these, an astonishingly-close-to-Bundeswehr-spec field shirt. But confusingly, in a form of commercial M81 and not bearing the German tri-color shoulder flash.
Why do we think it's Commercial Camo? If you look at the pattern in comparison to the US's beloved "god's plaid" you'll immediately notice some differences in the colors and shapes. Some might even say it looks like a strange version of "ERDL", a not-as-issued camo that was seen around on the US and dozens of other countries back in the 60s and 70s.
Leave it to the Germans to make an Enigma. We're not exactly sure what the origin of these are, but for collectors this is almost certainly a must-have due to it's oddity.

Solid German construction meets tried and true American camo. Fits well, is constructed well, and comes in a trusted, proven design and camo. What's not to love? The camo is a slightly off version than the God's Plaid we all know and love. The greens and tans are a wee bit...brighter. I like this differentiation, and it's fine for my uses, but if you're one of those people that can't say... mix multicam with MTP, you're gonna have a bad day mmk?

All the quality and comfort of a flecktarn field shirt, but in an unofficial god's plaid. If it were about comfort alone, 5/5; sadly the camo pattern is just a tad too bright so it doesn't go perfectly with M81 kit. If you aren't as spectrum-pilled as me, that's no big deal, but it bugs me so 4.8/5
