A fine addition to my collection
Fits well after throwing it in the wash. Now my OPFOR exercises can be a little more realistic!
The long lived M2008 camo was iterated on quite a bit over Turkey's history, and in the midst of a few interesting political changes in their country, Turkey moved away from the pattern in 2018, leaving boatloads of M2008 surplus behind, like this assault vest.
Turkey's military saw your dads commercial fishing vest and decided that was the perfect platform for their own military's assault vest (based).
The vest features 5 single magazine pouches made for G3 magazines (but also can fit AK and AR pattern magazines as well), along with two slightly smaller GP/grenade pouches up top. On the back, adjustment of the vest is accomplished with 3 buckle sliders, and there's a quasi-dump pouch, as well as a knife sheathe and another smaller GP pouch.
Why did the Turkish set up their vest like this? No one knows, but it certainly does the job.
Some of the vests in the batch also feature a large backpack pouch, similar in size to a US butt pack. Warehouse Ivan's autism was thoroughly tickled so he has sorted those out, so if you'd like extra storage, that's the version to go for.
Specs
Condition
Assault Vests are generally in great condition, with only mild signs of wear at most (no tears, cuts, major stains, or holes), and all hardware (zippers, buttons, etc) present and functional.
Sizing
We've translated the Turkish vest sizing to US sizes. These vests have quite a wide range of adjustment. We've found even the Size 1 (S-M) will fit up to a Large (42in chest circumference) size user with ease.

I will start with its construction, its very solid well built. Its got a zipper that gets covered by a velcro barrier to keep stuff out. Its also suprisngly comforatable. Its got 5 magazine pouches that will fit G3 magazines perfectly, it'll fit AK mags, even my phone and some tools. Very useful, the top 2 pouches fit 1 roll of gauze or 4 .38 super 1911 magazines. Its got back straps to adjust sizing I bought a medium and had to tighten it to a perfect fitment. Its got a back pack, a grenade pouch on the back, a bayonet frog which fits a hammer nicely, decent carpentry vest, the back drawstring pouch fits tons. I use it for a water bottle. Its very comforatable and has nice padding on the shoulders. Mine came with rocks and some cigarette butts. I have no clue as to why the last guy carried rocks but if you were this would work for that too. Overall damn good price and one of the only things ive seen that'll hold my G3 mags.
I like it lots it very cool
Great budget option for a good vest. Material is dual layered and thicker than the Air Force version. Mag pouches will not hold AR Pmags, the flap is not long enough. Just tuck the flap in and you're good to go. With the backpack it makes a good recce option. Would Recommend.
Cool vest and fits well. Found Turkish candy wrappers in the pocket which is a plus. I don't really have a use for it as the pockets aren't really sized for anything I need but undeniably interesting and very well made.
