A closely guarded secret since the 1970s, the existence of the F-117 Nighthawk was first acknowledged in a November 1988 Pentagon press conference. Assistant Defense Secretary J. Daniel Howard released a single grainy photograph of the aircraft.
This press release notably relaxed the secrecy surrounding the Nighthawk program, but it would be another two years until it was truly revealed to the public. On April 21, 1990 a flight of two F-117s landed in broad daylight and parked on the tarmac of Nellis Air Force Base. The “Stealth Unveiled” event drew tens of thousands of visitors, allowing unprecedented up-close access to the jet.
Due to popular demand, we have faithfully reproduced the "Stealth Unveiled" commemorative apparel which accompanied the original event.

Our Nighthawk tees are built on the Hanes Beefy-T for an accurate 1990s fit and feel. Please see the Sizing Chart page for more information.
Although the shirts are technically unisex, the Beefy-T is cut for a male wearer and may appear baggy and long on women. The shirt will shrink slightly during the first wash. After this it should fit true to size.

Our tees are screen printed with quality, custom-blended inks here in Minnesota. Printing techniques accurately replicate the original “Stealth Unveiled” t-shirt and should outlast the original in color, fastness, and durability.
The Hanes Beefy-T is constructed of 100% cotton, with slightly heavier-than-average fabric weight for durability.

Good quality screen printing, soft cotton.
The shirt material is somewhat dense as I like thinner fabric, but it should endure longer for this fact, love the design. The Nighthawk has an origami-like quality to its airframe, something that appears unable to fly, but was tamed through the magic of fly-by-wire. I’m partial to it since I saw one up close and personal at an air show when I was a child.
