Please Note - Some of our inventory stock may have a residue on the shield due to the age of the adhesive used for a protective sheet. You may need to use dish soap + water or goo-gone to remove this.
Protecting the face is one of the most important functions of riot gear. Thrown projectiles, chemicals, and other aerial hazards are common in unruly crowds, and a very real danger to officer safety and coordination. In a pinch, many riot operations are conducted with just face shields and batons.
This removable 4mm thick Lexan™ face shield is designed to mount on nearly any helmet with a forward facing brim, such as the classic PASGT shell. It's flexible design accommodates nearly any size of helmet, securing with an adjustable strap. As added protection, the rubber gasket seal prevents liquids that may come from the top of the helmet to reach the user's eyes. To tilt the visor to its raised position, press on the pivot lock on the left side of the visor and rotate the visor upwards.
You'll also notice the forward swept shape of the visor — this is to accommodate for many different sizes of issued gas masks, and still have ample room for large filters. Our model is wearing a 3M model M40 with an average riot-agent sized filter as well as an MSA voice amplifier to demonstrate truly how much room is under here.
Note On Fitment:
The DK5 didn't sit perfectly on the brim of the helmet for our model, but the rubber gasket seal is important to ensure seal. For proper fit, ensure the gasket seal is properly over the brim of the helmet to ensure a water-tight seal. A water tight seal may not be achieved with helmet covers as pictured.
