We all know you weren’t athletic or socially competent enough to get a letter jacket in high school (except those homeschool kids whose moms made cringe varsity jackets with a letter in “being my bestest boy”).

Now it’s your chance to become a real cool dude, a bad dude, the jock of all jocks: Jed Eckert. It’s 1984, and you’re a hick-adjacent high-schooler leading the Wolverines through the Colorado Rockies, fighting off Soviet subhumans with nothing but grit, an AK, and a Calumet High varsity jacket. Your eyes see red, you’re wearing Hoppe’s No. 9 cologne, and you’re slinging x39 brass into the next county.

Say hello to the Red Dawn Calumet High Letterman Jacket—straight from the cult classic where Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen made guerrilla warfare look like a high school pep rally (we have shared fantasies, dear reader).

Red Dawn Varsity Jacket – Calumet High Forever

True to the film, this jacket features a blue wool body, white leather sleeves, yellow “C” patch, and “Eckert” stitched on the chest—because you’re the leader of this resistance, whether you’re at the range, the drive-in, or embarrassing your poor mother in front of her book club.

Specs:

  • Made exclusively for Kommandostore
  • Felt Wool Body
  • Faux Leather sleeves and hand pocket openings
  • Red Dawn Camo lining
  • Snap-button front
  • Ribbed cuffs & hem
  • Two side pockets
  • Sizes S-3XL
  • Guerilla warfare not included

Why Red Dawn?

Red Dawn (1984) is the ultimate ‘80s action flick. Directed by John Milius, it follows a band of Colorado teens—the Wolverines—who form a guerrilla resistance after Soviets, Cubans, and Nicaraguans invade the U.S. Swayze’s Jed Eckert rocks this varsity jacket while leading ambushes, stealing gear, and turning Calumet High into a symbol of defiance. This jacket’s your ticket to that legacy—perfect for reenacting the drive-in scene, being subtly autistic, and getting funny looks from jerky vendors at the gun show.

Sizing

Our letterman jacket follows standard US sizing, with a fit true to size. We recommend going with your regular t-shirt sizing if you plan on wearing the jacket with thin layers like a t-shirt underneath. For heavier layers underneath such as a hoodie or fleece, we would recommend going one size up.

Care Instructions

Handwash or Machine Wash on Delicates, Cold Wash Settings. No Bleach. Hang Dry.

It keeps me warm....

Growing up on this movie, I've wanted a Calumet High Wolverines jacket since I first saw one. Always thought I'd have to end up making one of my own, but I'm a VERY lazy man.

Then I caught the link for this jacket, and I tell ya..... worth every penny (if you're reading this in the future, pennies were these coins we used to have.... coins being the fractional equivalent of a dollar....a dollar being a physical item we used to carry the we'd exchange for goods or services... pennies were coins that our grandparents used to be able to get a steak dinner and a small, 2 bedroom home on the beach for, but as of 2025, cost more to produce than their equivalent value..... but I digress... I'm saying it's a good jacket). The patches are actual fuzzy/embroidered patches like you'd want as opposed to some printed up crap, the sleeves are thick, the whole thing is decently made (not too heavy... good fall/ spring jacket). Plus, ya know, the lining is rad. But the best part about it is the "Aw, no WAYYYYYY!!!! Where did you get that?!?!?" comments you'll get from your non-lame friends. If none of your friends comment on it, you need to ask yourself why you're hanging with a bunch of children... then stop doing that. The sizes are pretty spot on. You MAY want to go a size up if you're going to layer it for fall wear/Swayze LARPing, but it pretty much fits like you'd expect a lettermen jacket to. Worth the cash.

TL/DR; Get the fuckin coat

Noice, bro!

Pros: This jacket is light and cozy. It fits like it's supposed to and looks to be a very nice quality piece. It makes you feel like the highschool football star you never were. The felt is ultra soft so ladies will likely want to hold on to you and stroke your chest. Cons: They are factory fresh, so they smell a bit like a fart in a horse glue factory until you air them out. Most people you know won't recognize the jacket, will roll their eyes when you show off the sweet Soviet lining and will claim they've never seen the movie. Also, octogenarians may ask you if it's Canadian.

Prefect for passing the pigskin and prolonged guerilla warfare

Solid materials, great fit. XL is perfect if your looking to wear a chicom chest rig underneath. Pockets fit a Makarov surprisingly well. 11/10.

+Resistance Against Communism

I didn't realize there was an extra pocket inside the jacket (as it was literally camoflauged), extra points there.
