Unopened Case of MCW Long Range Patrol Rations, straight from Mountain House.
Official Preparation Instructions
- Add 8-16 (check package) ounces of hot water (~⅓ canteen cup) to pouch
- Stir, wait ~5-10 minutes until fully rehydrated
- Hot water can be added in stages to keep food hot.
Recommended Best Practices
- Meals should be fully hydrated per the official instructions, and left to fully absorb the water.
- Eating too fast can mess with your mood, your metabolism, and your digestive system. Pace yourself and eat at a normal speed.
- Rehydrating the meal just means that the meal is rehydrated. You are still in charge of hydrating yourself. Make sure to drink adequate water.
- Minimize exposure to direct sunlight and temperatures above 75°F to maximize shelf life. Like most things, if stored in a dry cool place it will last longer. Proprietary Mountain House packaging preserves flavor until 2029, and viable calories beyond that.

Spagetti
It fills the stomach, salt, proteins, and carbs. Taste is good after a days work.
Very good products indeed.!! Please make other entrees available from Mountain House soon.!! OUT.
Very delicious and flavorful.!! Awesomely good.! The ONLY complaint I have is that there is so little of the different Mountain House brand freeze dried food packets/foil pouches that you add hot water directly into for a hot meal in ten minutes.!! Only western omelets and the ham, eggs, and cheese with peppers are available for some reason.?!?? First rate quality and I would buy a case or more of each Mountain House brand meals if they were available.! Hopefully they will become more accessible in the near future along with other camping foods.!!OUT.
mountain house: what's not to like?
Great taste and texture, If one needs to take a freeze dried meal with them. this is my recommendation for a go-to item. Hope you will soon offer more meals for sale.
Freeze dried deliciousness
Compact, shelf stable, easily prepared, can't ask for anything better. Beats the hell out of standard issue MRE's taste wise (sorry chili mac, just didn't quite make the cut of greatness). I have taken one to work and put it under the Keurig to get the hot water needed for prep and had a hot meal in 10 mins.
MCW Rations
Very small, came neatly packaged. Will use next time I go innawoods.
