While the SGE series masks by Mestel provide an enormous field of view at 87%, that's not of much use if your optical sensors are malfunctioning. In other words, if you use glasses, you're going to want one of these.

Designed to be snapped inside the SGE series mask without the use of any tools or worn independently (arms not included), getting a prescription set-up gas mask is as easy as purchasing one of these and having lenses made by your favorite optician. They feature ample ventilation on the side to reduce fogging.

I can see the light, or at least see…

Finally got lenses fitted to the frames and it’s the greatest shit. Being blind as a bat has always been a problem with gas masks but this 100% solves the problem, it just slides into the edges of the mask and hangs on to a little tab on each side at about the distance you would expect for regular glasses, so it’s really not that different from wearing a face shield over glasses.

Pro tip : The mask description points out Mestal also makes snorkeling masks that take a suspiciously similar glasses insert, these do fit I took the risk and got one. Now you can live out your amphibious assault fantasies.
