To put it simply, this is the most engineered piece of clothing we've ever sold. Every single detail has been meticulously planned, right down to the high-quality German zippers. Each finished parka represents a hilarious amount of labor — the sewing alone must have taken hours.
And here's why — there's a detachable collar and liner, a three-layer waterproof shell, a hook and loop secured system of deployable reflective panels, and pockets in the liner and on both sides of the shell.
The end result of this is a three-season jacket that can be configured for any weather and lights up like a Scotchlite™ Christmas tree on demand. The only thing missing is air conditioning and a built-in GPS.
It's also worth noting that this particular jacket is rare. We've seen a lot of Polizei parkas, but this is the only batch in this "modular" model. From what we can tell these were produced under contract for Saarland, Germany's smallest state in both area and population.
Specs
- Waterproof membrane housed in a cotton/poly shell
- Concealable / deployable Scotchlite™ panels
- Reversible one-sided wrist bands with snap adjustment
- Three skirt panels swing out from inside parka
- POLIZEI logo tag deploys from back compartment
- Two-way separator hip zippers with snap support
- Full customizable access to beltline without unzipping front storm flap
- Become a Polizei sumo wrestler with increased crouching room
- Removable fleece liner
- Removable collar liner
- Four outside snap pockets
- Two inside zip pockets
- Zip and snap double-panel front stormflap
- Locker-loop and straps for shoulder marks
Back Logo Option
Some of the back POLIZEI logo tags have been removed before the parka was made surplus. This has not affected the structural integrity of the compartment. You just no longer have the reflective tag.
Saarland Polizei Crest & Patch Availability
Not every parka has one. Availability and form vary with parka and patch stock. "First come first serve," if size ordered permits patch ability.
Potential outcome:
- Hook & loop material with patch included
- Embroidered crest sewn on parka
- Hook & loop material without patch included
- Nothing / previous crest-seam ripped before it was made surplus
Condition
Parkas are like new with little signs of use.

Excellent Jacket
I purchased this jacket not knowing if I was making a good choice or not. I needn't have bothered. The jacket is, as described, of excellent construction and broke down and re-assembled easily for cleaning. The material is top-notch and the optional Scotchbrite highlights would really help if I were somewhere in the dark and needed to be visible. I'm very pleased with it and just waiting for the weather to turn cold again so I can break it out of the closet.

Great construction
Well thought-out parka. Double zippers are nice, but take some finesse to not jam up, but that's user error on my part. Stowable scotchlite is also a nice feature. Pockets are roomy, can hold 30-round PMAGs easily. Removable liner is comfy.

Getting this product took awhile because I wanted one with the letters on the back, worth the wait though.
Overall a great piece of clothing, found it very useful and stylish. I paid for a damaged version so I'd have to glue small pieces of some letters on the back every once in awhile, holds up very well though. Can not wait for it to be winter again here in Southern California.

Great coat
Simple design, removable liner, durable outer and lots of pockets make it a very nice jacket. The reflective strips are nice for when you need something for a walk at night and need to keep up visibility cause you're maybe in a rural area or even just a bad part of town.
