Based on the venerable British Pattern 58 webbing, the South African Pattern 70 webbing was used during several regional conflicts in the horn of Africa, including the Rhodesian Bush War and the South African Border War. It is easy to see why this is the case, as Pat 70 was a modular, breathable system ideally suited to the climate and landscape of Southern Africa.

Featuring rock-hard canvas construction and magazine pouches attached to every possible surface, Pattern 70 was designed for "bad days." The system is optimized for durability and reliability from the canvas material to the redundant, heavy stitching and chunky, metal D-rings.

The Pattern 70 Bren Magazine pouches are perfectly sized for holding two 30 round Bren L4 magazines with a Spanish buckle like enclosure. It can also hold two 30 round FAL mags without issue.

Great 5.56 mag pouch!

Originally designed for 35rnd R4 magazines, these work great for 30rnd STANAG mags. You can snugly fit three pmags or FOUR metal mags! The pouch even features a strap to assist in magazine removal if you find it difficult to weasel you fingers in there. This pouch is simply an excellent addition to any Pat 70 set for anyone who wants to use it with modern rifles.
