As drippy as it is functional
Recently used this on a backpacking trip through some mountains you've probably never even heard of and can recommend this piece if you are also a train enthusiast who enjoys sleeping outside.
Pros
- You're gonna have the sickest looking sleep system around. Not a high bar to beat but it still soars over it
- Goretex is the truth. You're gonna stay dry no matter how wet it gets outside and if people see this it's gonna be wet outside
- Spacious, for what it is. The footbox doesn't have a ton of room but the head area has loads so you can easily stash your phone or e-reader in here and not worry.
Cons
- It is heavy and bulky for backpacking gear. Guaranteed to make ultralight backpackers openly weep. This may be a pro depending on your perspective.
- The sideways velcro eats hair. If you have long luscious locks like yours truly this is something you're gonna have to accommodate for.
- Doesn't fit a sleeping pad plus bag easily. Can be done, if you don't mind the feeling of being shrink-wrapped. This necessitates packing a ground cover tarp as my pad is inflatable and woven out of baby angel hair.
As far as what I received, this sucker came out of the box looking brand new. No visible damage, no wear and tear. Steal of a deal for some serious gear.
