Mounted on the business end of an STG57, you'd definitely have a bad day if you got poked by one of these guys.
The M57 bayonet comes from a land known for it's knives and it's easy to tell why - these are some seriously high quality bayonets for being surplus. As is usually the case with Swiss-plus, they didn't ever end up getting used for the world-war-III scenario they were preparing for.
Featuring a long, double-edged diamond-ground blade, it's one and only purpose is for giving the enemy a vicious stab right in the guts, and isn't much of a "fighting knife". It has a tiny bit of an edge on it but nothing that could cut your fingers Regardless — it's 9.25" blade with about 7" of that being part of the "sharpened" grind is badass, and will certainly be right at home in any knife collection.
It's grip is extremely comfortable, featuring a hard ribbed and rubberized texture that feels great in your hand and aids manipulation even with winter gloves on. It gets pretty cold in the alps, after all. It features a pommel that's pretty typical of a bayonet which locks it in to the lug, and a large ring on the guard below the ricasso.
Overall, it's one of the finest surplus bayonets you can buy in terms of quality and craftsmanship. Leave it to the Swiss to make excellent knives.

The bayonets come unsharpened, and might have grease/oil to protect them from rust. There may also be superfluous wear from sheathing/unsheathing the bayonet from its frog. Some blades also appear to have very minor warps that do not affect function nor durability.
I really love it. It's easy to sharpen an I hope I get to use it one day! Thanks!!
