Based on the venerable British Pattern 58 webbing, the South African Pattern 70 webbing was used during several regional conflicts in the horn of Africa, including the Rhodesian Bush War and the South African Border War. It is easy to see why this is the case, as Pat 70 was a modular, breathable system ideally suited to the climate and landscape of Southern Africa.

Featuring rock-hard canvas construction and magazine pouches attached to every possible surface, Pattern 70 was designed for "bad days." The system is optimized for durability and reliability from the canvas material to the redundant, heavy stitching and chunky, metal D-rings.

The Pattern 70 Shoulder bag can be used as a small standalone bag or added to the Pattern 70 webbing as an additional pouch. It features a button flap closure and metal D-ring sling attachments.

        grab'n'go man purse FTW

I wish I had 10 more of these. It is smaller than you think its going to be and the strap is indeed quite short BUT worth every cent. For those who are wondering, as I was, it fits four 30 round metal AR mags like that is what it was designed for. Easy way to grab 120 rounds on your way out the door to walk the dog, visit grandma, or fight commies. I ordered a "good" condition unit and felt like I got a "like new" one.

The most rugged piece of gear I own

This bag really exceeded my expectations. First, up front, my only complaint: the shoulder strap is mighty short. As a more robustly built individual, cross-body wear was not going to be an option with the strap provided. But honestly, who cares? I had an extra range bag lying around with a strap that was a perfect match. You probably have one within arms reach of you right now.

Now the fun part! This thing is absolutely BUILT. It is simple, straight-forward in design, and tougher than I'll need it to be. I feel like I was meant to have this because I was specifically looking for something to carry the water flask and wireless speaker in the photos... The fit is so perfect I'd swear someone knew my needs and had this made just for me, it's uncanny. I'm super satisfied with the condition (I went with the "great" option, was not let down). Now I just need to get a bunch more Pattern 70 gear!
