The history surrounding the development of vz 97 camouflage is one of surprising peacefulness. It all started with the breakup of Czechoslovakia at the end of 1992. Unlike the chaos that ensued when Yugoslavia broke up, Czechoslovakia dissolution was a mutual one… So mutual in fact that it was called a velvet divorce. Unfortunately this meant no more sharing the same camo pattern, the ERDL inspired vz 95. The Slovakians must have taken inspiration from their former country, however, because their vz 97 camouflage looks suspiciously like M81 woodland. Depending on the age, it is affectionately referred to as “bright” woodland.Â
This heavy duty Field Parka features a thick poly/cotton shell with an interior drawstring, a stowable hood and a zipper closure front with a buttonable storm flap. Additionally the interior has sections for a buttonable liner (not included). Velcro cuffs round out this cold weather contender. The Velcro ID panels help ensure that everyone you meet knows exactly to whom they are speaking to. M’lady. It comes with two interior pockets and 6 exterior pockets, including some suspiciously AK-47 magazine shaped pockets. The parka is practically load bearing. The only question is if you are up to the task.Â

Sizing
Parkas are sized by the users height, and chest circumference in centimeters. We've translated these sizes to standard US sizing, but we'd absolutely recommend measuring your height and chest circumference for the best fit rather than relying on your US size. Parkas are oversized slightly to allow for more layers to be worn underneath, so as long as you're close to the selected size measurements it should fit well.Â
Condition
Parkas are in great condition, with no tears, cuts, or holes. May have minor signs of use. All hardware is intact, and functional.
Bought it for field work in cold weather . Description mentioned ammo magazine pockets which are also good for water bottles. There's 1 pocket at left rear hip perfect for a field book.
Plenty of room for various liners or fleeces.
Material isn't too heavy but has a nice weight to it, perfect for windy days. Had a small hiccup with the order but the team handled it no problem, super happy with the product and customer service!
