Kidney Buckle Style

Designed by Lowe Alpine and improved by ARWY, this Long Range "Sting" Patrol Pack is the big brother to our Dutch "Landmacht" Assault Pack and successor to the Berghaus Vulcan Rucksack. Sporting an 80-liter capacity between three compartments, a smart design, and quality construction—the only mistake the Dutch made with these packs was in letting them go.

Luckily for you, between the padded shoulder straps, back pads, and waist belt, once you've got one on it's not going anywhere. Adjustments can be made along the back so that the waist belt and shoulder straps sit properly regardless of your height, guaranteeing a snug fit and tailor-made feel.

Made out of Cordura nylon, the pack's both sturdy and waterproof. The main compartment holds 60 liters, and like the "Landmacht" rucksack there's a document pocket tucked inside the elastic lid. There's also a pouch for a hydration bladder with a right-side passthrough. The bag's internal metal frame means it'll stay firm against your back, no matter how much kit you stuff inside.

What's more, the lid has an external cargo pocket as well as fasteners to affix gear, or even something like a solar panel for longer excursions, and the shoulder pads have clips for holding the hydration tube, or for attaching small items like a compass. There's also MOLLE webbing on the outside of the pack (front, sides, and bottom), allowing you to add even more storage, as well as Velcro on the external straps to help organize the slack.

Along the sides are two smaller zip-on bags, each adding 10 liters per pouch. Each pouch has a stowable padded strap, and the pair can be zipped together once to form a small assault pack, zipped together twice to form a duffle bag, or relocated to the back or bottom of the bag using the MOLLE straps/clip.

The backpacks come in two types, sorted by the buckle on the waist strap. ARWY's first generation of bags were almost identical copies of Lowe Alpine's original "Sting" design, complete with your standard fast-release buckle. Later iterations made slight improvements, swapping that out for the "Berghaus buckle".

    Great!

I'd have thought this pack was unissued if the straps had come tapped down by the previous owner. It's rather large coming in at around 80l with the rocket pouches that can be worn as a stand alone day pack. The adjustablity/ modularity is great. The kidney pads aren't the most robust but for the price I don't think this rucksack can be beaten.

    F***in’ Awesome

Exactly what I wanted and needed. Even more modular than I expected.

Had to convince the wife it was a “camping backpack” for our planned summer trips. And it worked. Momma do never disappoints. Thank yall!

    Good value

I was impressed with how comfortable this pack was after adjusting it to fit me and running around with some weight. I picked the good condition with side release buckles, pack was made by ARWY. As a side quest I did a video review which can be found on youtube at https://youtu.be/PhK9xf8YmIc?si=jvcFOBWHD-RGV7Bn

    Pretty nice pack

It does a very good job of distributing the weight and it's incredibly adjustable to fit your needs. Side pockets remove and under them on the side of the pack is like a tie down section that I've used for a rain cover for the bag. Over all good pack and it's already proved it's worth.

    Great piece of kit

I purchased the pack in its good condition, so far it has been able to accommodate all of my camping gear. Better yet it fits extremely well with the original pattern 83 and Kommando store’s own pattern 84 chest rigs.

I have yet to attempt to fit a tent inside of the pack or mount it to the system, yet overall it works well for what I need it for! Totally recommend it if you need an all around ruck that allows you to compartmentalize gear.
