This one immediately feels firm and durable to the touch, and exceeds expectations. It's extremely warm, and fits a little more snugly than the average ski mask; it stays firmly in place, but has enough elasticity to work with tied hair. I wear a 61cm hat size, and this balaclava runs small enough on me to cause noticeable pressure, but it does so evenly enough to not be too much of a bother. I like that it has enough length on the neck to terminate below the collar-line; combined with a scarf, one could achieve excellent coverage from the cold. I also like the material; it's less itchy than more typical fabrics, and feels a lot stronger. It is notably thick, enough that none of my hats feel quite right with it, and it's not the most breathable mask in the world; it's a little uncomfortable over the nose, but can be worn below the nose comfortably. It can also be rolled up and worn as a watch cap.

Warm as you might expect, plus fairly comfortable. The neck runs longer than most, so you have a better hope of tucking it into your shirt/jacket. Very breathable. It's thicker than other balaclavas, which might affect layering. I've got a bigger-than-usual head, and it pretty much fits, though I don't know that it could go much larger. Also, because of it's construction, if you don't wear a hat or something you tend to look like a pinhead.
