Actually comfortable pair of leather boots
I've collected a ton of old fashioned European surplus leather boots (Two pairs of Swiss, one Austrian, one Czech, and now this beauty). I've worn them all on long walking trips around the city - this pair has hands down the best ventilation, ankle support, and overall comfort.
Sizing note: I usually wear US 10 E but had to settle with 10.5 EE due to availability. It runs decently big by itself but after adding soles and wearing a good pair of wool socks, it fits perfectly. Felt bored and walked 15 miles the day I got it - feet didn't hurt one bit. Previously the Swiss army boot has been my favorite (thus the two pairs), but this Bundeswehr's ankle support is far superior thanks to the sturdy canvas.
Did take a lot of mink oil to get her back in shape. Left boot has no sign of wear on the leather while the right one has a cut and two small dents - nothing some good polish can't take care of. For a pair of used surplus boots, this one is in great condition.
