Far from a gimmick of fashion, Reversibles have had a firm place in military environments since the early 20th century with reversible camouflage uniforms and blaze-orange lined "Bomber" jackets.
As the outdoor industry blossomed from adapting military garments into a more civilian friendly use case from WW2 onwards, the innovations and ideas actually became rather simultaneous, with military garments taking outdoor industry ideas and adapting them for combat, and combat clothiers switching gears to take their innovations to the fashion world.
With the explosion of technical apparel & gear that the 80s and 90s brought, companies like The North Face, Patagonia, and Columbia came out swinging with advanced patterns and even more advanced materials.
Many of the breakthroughs were in the synthetics, which gave birth to low cost, high performance garments for the everyman explorer & tier one soldier alike. Low pile fleeces dominated the market as the perfect goldilocks layers whether they were on the ski slopes or the mountainsides of afghanistan.
That certainly was a major source of our inspiration...
The nature of the reversible fleece is that it can be worn how you want, when you want, and wont take up the space that two traditional layers would.
Weather-resistant nylon ripstop on one side with the fleece inside could keep you protected from harsher conditions, and fleece on the outside works as an incredible windstopper and showstopper.
In a magical time where recreation and reccenoitering had more in common than not, we think ideas like these are what make that era full of "timeless" gear.

This jacket is just what I needed for backpacking in Appalachistan. It packs down small, which is a plus for my particular use case. I would recommend sizing up, these do seem to run small. Other than that, very pleased.
I was a little worried about the fit running small from many of the other reviews, but didn't have any issues ordering my normal size. I ordered a medium. I'm 5'11, 165lbs with fairly long arms. Sleeve length was no issue. The only issue is that the sleeves are a bit stiff, limiting range of motion.
Initial impressions of the quality are pretty high, and great for the price. Love the little KSGI small details to make it feel unique. Definitely looking forward to the colder months to start wearing it.
My first purchase from KS, and I am very pleased. Very well made, seems incredibly durable, packed with practical features that I found myself actually using, such as the cinch at the waist and the two different pocket styles. Which, speaking of the pockets, they're huge! Very warm both just over a t-shirt and as part of a layering system. This jacket is definitely becoming part of my everyday gear for the coming colder days, and I will absolutely be purchasing more KSGI. Cheers from your Northern neighbour.
This is my new favorite jacket now. The coyote brown works well with a lot of other camos besides multicam. I've worn it with Rhodesian brushstroke, nutria brown, desert tigerstrip, chocolate chip, and M81 and it looks great with all of them. It's a little tight around the back and triceps when I reach my arms out but that's probably because they said it was a loose fit so I went down one size. Probably gonna get the correct size in the future, but I only notice when my arms a fully extended. Not the jacket's fault tho.
