Not just for LARP’ing COD missions
This is a well-built, sturdy piece of equipment. The Russian solution to anything is make it simple. If that doesn’t work then add more material. Luckily, that material is aluminum so it’s still incredibly light and portable. Mine did not include the wrist strap but 550 cord works well too.
I haven’t climbed any glaciers or mountains. I live in a pretty flat, wooded area. My main concerns are all the wendigos and skinwalkers around here. I was doing an IRL rogue build to counter them with ranged weapons but they didn’t seem to have an effect at getting rid of them. When I walk my dog I can hear strange whispers from the woods calling me in. But the ranged weapons only scared them off to come back again. With the ice pick and some other things I’ve gone to a paladin build. This thing helps me with aura effects and damage vs unholy and undead.
The wendigos have stopped calling my name in familiar voices. But when walking my dog they’ve occasionally shape-shifted into the form of a coyote or stray pit bull to charge us. Once they see the ice pick and enter my AOE, they run off.
I suppose one day I may encounter a high enough level unique or boss that will FAFO. We’ll see how much DPS this thing will deal then. It has a nice chisel end for digging crevasses or dealing blunt damage. The “bill” has teeth so looks like it’s good for hanging/grabbing edges but for my purposes can probably do some decent piercing and sap HP over time by applying bleed. Speaking of that, the…
