Swedish M90 camouflage originally began its life as vehicle camouflage developed by the Försvarets forskningsanstalt (FOA) in the 1970’s.
With solid colorways becoming rather dated by the late 1980s, Sweden decided to adapt its FOA camouflage for use amongst its personnel as M90. Designed to hide Sweden’s planes and tanks from the aerial and satellite reconnaissance of the late Soviet Union, it was especially useful in hiding amongst Sweden’s forest and tundra. And since most people aren’t as large as a tank (unlike your average American), the Swedes decided to scale it down by a proportion of 1:66.
The result? An uncharacteristically clean camouflage. With its hard lines and geometric patterning, it’s hard to believe this pattern was originally developed in the late 70s. It was so modern its influence can even be found in Battlefield 4… if you know where to look. It certainly makes for a uniquely futuristic camouflage that isn’t MULTICAM®️ (thank the Lord).
The M90 Field Pants are probably one the most standout features for field pants on our site.
They sport two buttonable hand pockets to keep your hands warm and your phone and keys safe & secure while the zippered side pockets give you ample space to store spare medical supplies or Swedish Fish. The heavy-duty construction also includes reinforced knees and zippered calves along with integral elastic in the cuff to keep out any inclement Scandinavian-type weather.

The Swedes thought they were making a sizing utopia by deciding your size with height and weight. Honestly? It works pretty well. Figure out your height (in centimeters), and input your overall weight and you should have a well-fitting pair of field pants.
Swedish M90 "Splinter" Field Pants
Fit well, made of a stiff fabric. I'ven't taken it out into a storm, but it holds up well against a kitchen faucet. Plenty of pocket space. Zip-up fly and two buttons are interesting, considering lack of waist adjustment (besides belt). Interesting ankle / boot adjustment: two snap positions + elastic.
I ordered the Swedish M90 "Splinter" Field Pants 185-195cm (US Tall) 90-100kg (198-220lb)... I am 75", and 209lbs ... the height of these pants was perfect but even being in the middle of the weight recommendation, these were way too baggy for my slender build. Hopefully I can get my hands on a 185-195cm (US Tall) /80-90Kg pair ...
I have always wanted some M90s, such an awesome and unique camo pattern! The M90s I received were great priced, excellent quality of trousers (condition/make/NO wear and tear!), the material is heavier which I love, these will make excellent cooler weather hiking/hunting pants. The elastic bottom of the pants legs with the "shoelace" loop (essentially making them built in gaiters) is awesome, cargo pockets are huge and the zipper closures make them more secure in ensuring you aren't going to lose your valuables... same with the button hand pockets (GENIUS!). No rear pockets which I prefer, makes sitting more comfortably (don't have buttons or a wallet cutting into you) and you aren't catching rear pocket flaps on a rock/tree branch etc. While These are baggier than I want, I can easily gift these to my brother who has a stockier build (higher end of the recommended weight for these pants and likes baggier trousers than me) and been looking for a pair himself (now I will be the cooler younger brother for this surprise). This isn't my first order with Kommando Store and def won't be my last, they are great! get some more in please! :-D

I own and wear a lot of camouflage as you may have already guessed. I’m not weird about it though.
Much to my chagrin, I’m not is the sized medium/regular in Sweden. I’d been wanting a pair of these just for the oddball factor.
Pants looked really good in the box with lots of cool features but the tape told the tale. I haven’t had a 30 inch waist since I was in the tenth grade in 1972 or so.
Return for store credit was easy enough. Bought a pair of the Koreans. They fit.
Loved these so much I had to get a second pair. Watch out for the sizing though, whatever your waist size is you need to order one size up. Didn't realize that when I got my first pair and they fit perfect except for not buttoning up at the waist.
Exactly what the title says, but on a real note, these are actually really good pants with all kinds of crazy features, definitely a stand out in the surplus world.
