In the early cold war, the sure-fire way to show that you could protect yourselves, and that nobody else should try to stop you, was the Nuclear option. It got so out of hand in the United States during the 1950s that alongside developing the Big Scary Nukes we also spent untold piles of cash developing cute little nukes too.
Starting with one of the most absurd weapons ever made, the Davy Crocket weapons system was a recoilless mini-nuke launcher that directly inspired the "Fat Man" launcher in the Fallout Series. The idea was, with the efficiency of nuclear detonation to destroy large structures, it could effectively be used as a form of artillery to evaporate and irradiate anything that stood in your way. Not much information about the Davy Crockett system existed, until we stumbled upon an incredibly rare Field Manual.
The 2nd book, "Employment of atomic demolition munitions" goes over the man-portable ADM, a literal backpack-nuke that could be strategically placed to tactically mini-nuke a building or bridge. The diagrams showing guys carrying an actual nuclear weapon on their back in this book are beyond hilarious, but remember, Nukes were one of the most giant leaps in the history of warfare and we wanted to use them any way we could. We got our hands on the equally rare and "official government use only" handbook about exactly how to employ your ancap mini-nuke to maximum effectiveness.
We couldn't just hoard both of the books for our archive - So we re-mastered them in HD and made probably our most provocative of coffee table books yet...
