Water has a way of turning a decent day into a horrible one. Sudden pouring rain, a trip and fall into a river, and all your equipment is immediately soaked. It can be anything from an inconvenience to a life or death situation at worst. "There's always a pack cover, right Ivan?" Well, those have a tendency to soak in after a long duration in the rain, and they definitely don't provide any protection when submerged. Clearly, you need a dry bag.

Stuff your belongings in these bags, roll up the top, and squeeze them down. The one-way pressure relief valve will get all the air out and keep it out, along with any water or dust. This dry bag made by renowned manufacturer Seal Line was made for the abuse of a USMC grunt, and is a fantastic way to organize and protect your equipment in your bag.

The pressure relief valve also allows this to double as a compression sack - Like your grandma's SpaceBags, you can squeeze all the air out of clothes, small sleeping bags, and other soft goods thanks to that pressure valve. And it'll all be water tight.

Get one for your day pack, or a bunch for your long-range-patrol-LARP ruck, it's invaluable to keep your gear dry.

Condition

Excellent

  • Lightly used and well cared for.
  • Perfectly functional with either minor or no cosmetic blemishes, abrasions, or other signs of use. For the MACS sack, the excellent grade means the bags are essentially like-new.

Good

  • Gear that's seen normal use, but retains uncompromised utility..
  • May exhibit writing and/or markings, including rank, serial numbers, etc. For the MACS sack this generally means permanent marker writing on the outside of the bag.

 Serviceable

  • Gear that remains field-ready, but sports a rougher, worn aesthetic.
  • May exhibit writing and/or markings, including rank, serial numbers, etc.
  • For the MACS sack, the Serviceable condition means that a minor field repair is required on the material of the bag to bring it back to being 100% waterproof. This generally means a small (at most 1cm) cut, or pinprick hole that needs to be repaired. We've found superglue is the easiest, most durable, and most inexpensive method to fix said blemish. Once the superglue is cured the sack is usually indistinguishable from a Good, or even Excellent condition sack.

Used but Not Useless

I ordered two of the Serviceable condition dry bags thinking that for what the price is, I'll take a gamble on whatever state they're in. One had four tiny pinholes that I easily fixed with vinyl repair glue. The second bag is just about perfect, with the exception of one small scuff, no repairs needed. So I got two dry bags for less than the price of one. Me likey!
