Coming from the German Swiss term Beiwacht (bei by, and wacht watch or patrol) the proper term for this item is is biv·ou·ac (/ˈbivo͞oˌak/) but most know it as the Bivy. When inclement weather catches you off guard, or your quick stay in the woods doesn't require a tent, the Bivy fills in the gap as a quick-to-deploy rudimentary shelter.
By the grace of the fabric gods, this Bivvy features a construction out of good 'ol PTFE Gore-Tex. This is extremely advantageous for a bivy, where weight and breathability are top priority. Unlike some t bivy bags, the Dutch opted for a single hoop-pole to give you and your gear extra room to hunker down, making it a bit of a tent-bivy hybrid.
Curiously, you'll find large bands on the outside bottom of the bivy cover — apparently the Dutch believe that a sleeping pad should not only have a way to be secured to the bivy but have it be on the outside. Your guess is as good as ours.
On dry days, it features a mosquito net so you can enjoy your stay in the bivy while being able to vent a lot more heat.
But rest assured, the Dutch build their gear well and this is no exception. It's not often you get an entire sleeping solution made with Gore-Tex, even when it's as minimalist as this.

Packs down a little larger than I expected, 10L Sting side pouch and 1L canteen for scale. The side zip is a welcome addition compared to other bivies out there. Haven't tested the waterproofing yet, but all the seam tape was in great shape and I couldn't find anywhere that was even close to worn. Just enough length for me (6') to fit with an empty Sting backpack (60+20L) behind my head, but it'd be real tight if it were full of other gear. Can't wait to get out in the woods with it.

Fits big people- i have tried the USMC long version and at 6'5" i feel like a vacuumed wrapped hot dog. This can take a nice wide sleeping bag and still have room. If your normal sized you could store your crap and a dog in it with you. Condition was awesome.
This one has ended the search for "the" Bivy,

TLDR:
Super Fast Setup (Use light weight stakes attached to carabiners, ditch the sack and just leave in your pack), will fit you and your malnourished Vietnamese man slave, not good if you hate smol spaces (tunnel rats rejoice), looks sick under NAWDS BRUH.
Super fast to setup, compact enough to fit in most of my backpacks (tested with a Mystery Ranch 2-Day, British DPM Radio Backpack (also from KS) and your run of the mill hiking pack). Typically from backpack to fully ready to go, it takes me about 2 minutes tops. I recommend getting some modern aluminum stakes and carabiners to make assembling a breeze. This Bivy will fit myself (5'7" shawty king), full backpack, pillow, sleeping pad, blankets and rifle (11.5" /w suppressor) with some room to spare.
Mosquito net works well, just need to mess around with the zippers. I would recommend some bees wax to smooth them out. The bivy does retain some heat but I would still layer up for them cold nights. If you are claustrophobic, this one might not be for you; or you could use it to get over your fear.
If these are available again ever, grab it because YOLO Swaggins.
