Surplus combat shirts are replacing uniform blouses, just as casual tees and polos have largely replaced button-ups and suits. Lighter, thinner, easier to care for, and moisture wicking, a good combat shirt is a versatile garment for everyday use. The solid-colored, breathable core fits comfortably under plate carriers and packs, and it brings down the volume of autistic screeching that comes standard-issue with wearing full camo.
The German KSK TropentarnĀ combat shirt is a stellar example of a combat shirt done well. Lightweight, quick-drying, and with convenient sleeve pockets, it's perfect for range day, everyday wear, and desert-flavored outdoorsmanship. While some of these shirts are missing the pads, with some foam padding, the integrated elbow pad pockets make it comfy cozy to do some prone LARPing or gruntwork.
TropentarnĀ is a variation of the well-known Flecktarn pattern used by the Bundeswehr in arid and semi-arid regions. It opts for fewer, less forest-y colors to better blend in with these environments.
