Surplus Condition Guide
When we get military surplus in the warehouse, every single piece gets hand sorted for condition and it's native sizing, as opposed to taking our supplier's word for it on both. This means you get the exact piece you want in the size that fits you best, and if you want you can save a couple bucks if you're willing to step down in quality to get something that's still mostly intact.
Photos on our site are typically representing the best possible quality piece of the batch in order to best show their features as a "control group" to what's in stock without any compromised features or details. We try to account for any major visual differences by being transparent about the quality of the items you will receive in the condition guides.
We do not typically sort for year-to-year differences in camouflage patterns on uniforms for example unless the differences are noticably drastic, like in pre-1995 and post 1995 Flecktarn.
If you're ever not happy with the condition you received an item in, consult the product's condition guide, and if you received something worse than described on accident, contact customer service by emailing help@kommandostore.com.
Below is a guide for generally how we sort things out when they come in, but keep in mind some things may be different on an item-by-item basis. Your best bet is to consult the condition guide on each product page.
Like New
- Minor to no signs of wear
- All hardware is present, intact, and functional
- No modifications, repairs, cuts, holes, tears, or stains
Great
- Minor signs of wear
- All hardware is present, intact, and functional
- May have minor modifications and repairs (under x3)
- No cuts, holes, tears, or stains
Good
- Regular signs of wear
- Most hardware (zippers must be present & functional) is present, intact, and functional
- May have minor modifications and repairs
- May have minor pinprick holes and non-ink stains that blend in
- No cuts or tears
Serviceable
- Heavy signs of wear
- Some hardware may be missing or broken (large zippers must be present) but can be easily replaced or repaired
- May have moderate modifications or repairs
- May have cuts, holes, tears, or non-ink stains no bigger than 1/2"
"Blem" (not typically for sale, usually on clearance & no returns)
- Heavy signs of wear
- Some hardware may be missing or broken (large zippers must be present)
- May have major modifications or repairs
- May have cuts, holes, tears, or ink stains no bigger than 2x2"
