AUSTRIAN WATERPROOF GORTEX/SYMPATEX M65 PARKA

Almost immediately after being introduced during the Vietnam war, the M65 parka was cemented into the collective unconsciousness of the Western world. It is the military parka everyone and their mother knows. The design reigns king; like the AK47, the iPhone, and the McDonalds hamburger some version of the M65 will be made until the end of time.

The Austrians have been making their virtually identical clone of the US M65 for some time now. In the past we've stocked their heavy cotton M65––one of our all time most popular products. This version is the generation after that, upgraded with modern synthetic waterproofing.

Sleek, sexy, and ready for rough stuff, it's a heavy jacket that'll shrug off whatever you (and nature) can throw at it. If you want a jacket you'll have for the rest of your life on this Earth and the next three generations of your family, this is it.

      Very Nice

There's not much I can say that other reviewers haven't, its a sturdy, warm parka that will take years and years of abuse and probably look better for it at the end.

I was right on the edge between the smallest size and the next one up, and I ended up going with the bigger one, which does fit well (especially with multiple layers on underneath) but I am curious as to how the smaller size would have fit. Length was good though.

      Best jacket I own

I bought this parka partway through last winter, as my only other heavy jacket was a wool logging jacket. Warm, but not enough. Now, this M65 parka is amazing. It's relatively lightweight, it's super warm, the fit is amazing, and since it's just a nice OD green and not camo, people don't look at you like you're some edgelord for wearing it. I ordered one slightly larger than what the chart suggested, but it still fits very comfortably. It feels like it sits the same way on me whether I'm wearing a t-shirt or a hoodie. Also, the hood is something magical. It always fits snugly, whether I'm wearing a toque or a hoodie or nothing, even when the wind is blowing it still holds on snugly. The front pockets are also at just the right height, and are big enough that you can fit your hands + mitts in them, and if you so desire you can also pull the cuffs of the sleeves into the pockets as well for extra protection from the wind. The coldest I've worn this jacket was -35C (-31F), and with a bit of layers underneath I wasn't doing too bad.

      Great product

This is my first time purchasing from kommandostore and it won't be my last. I was thrilled with the quality of the parka. It definitely runs a bit big so I would keep that in mind when ordering. It arrived in excellent condition. Its a must have for me.
