Before armor was widely used in combat, most militaries seemed to agree on a formula for sustainment gear: A load bearing harness consisting of shoulder pads and a hip belt. In some way or another, a belt and suspenders was the gold standard for over 100 years of conflicts between firearm-bearing nations.

Eagle industries is one of the most prolific manufacturers of MOLLE Gear for the US military, and just so happened to make their own Harness.

Think of it as a whole new take on ALICE, with MOLLE webbing in lieu of the need to use ALICE clips. It spreads the load around the user's hips instead of their shoulders, allows for easy use of an assault/ALICE-type rucksack, and can sit on top of slick armor carriers very comfortably. It's no secret the internet has certainly caught on to this in the last couple years, and now the terms "recce" and "belt kit" have absolutely taken over the gear world.

Eagle's harness in particular has seen a lot of action in many theatres, and has become renowned for it's performance especially in hot weather environments in conjunction with or without armor underneath. It features 8 points of adjustment on the shoulder harness for a perfect fit on nearly any user, and more on the belt to really dial in the comfort. It's covered in PALS webbing to allow for the attachment of an absurd amount of pouches, making it an incredibly configurable base for you to customize.

The H harness itself features even more MOLLE webbing to route cables and hydration or attach more pouches, and the back is made with a breathable mesh to allow for much more airflow on hot days.

Eagle really knocked it out of the park with this one. Taking the lessons learned from Pattern 83, the PLCE, and many other load bearing harnesses it doesn't get much better than this in terms of surplus LBE.
